An authentic looking cowhide rug with the benefit

I volunteer there a few days a week. They have a couple of leather wingback chairs and wanted a cowhide rug to make a conversation area.I specifically wanted to get a washable rug for the center. This rug is consistent with my personal washable rugs. They are thinner so they fit in a clothes washer, The rubber backing feels very secure but because it’s a senior center, we will add a non-slip pad and secure the corners.The rug comes folded but lays flat quickly. Within 6 hours most of the creases were gone. The last picture shows the rug after 6 hoursThe senior members have seen a picture of the rug and are very excited about their future conversation area.

Thinner than advertised. The cowhide look is done well. Anti-slip is effective for a rug so thin.

I ordered the 5'x7' and it mimics a cowhide pretty well in look (see pic). The rug is described as low-pile, and it is very thin--thinner than I had anticipated. It feels agreeable to the foot, similar to walking on a very thin blanket. No discernible cushioning is really felt or perceived when standing on it. The edges are securely stitched to help the rugs longevity (see pic). The backing has a crisscross pattern of anti-slip, soft rubber 'dashes' that do a good job of keeping the rug in place. The listing stated the rug is 0.24" low pile and I think this is being generous. I took a couple pictures, one with the rug folded over (doubling its thickness), and one where the rug is folded over twice (quadrupling the thickness), with only enough pressure to hold the layers together to make contact, and the ruler shows the results. Four layers didn't seem to even add up to 3/4", when they should have been right at about 1". The material is smooth and soft to the touch, and I perceive it like fleece. I like that it can be machine washed on gentle cycle in cold water. I feel due to the fact it is so thin and light and not as thick as advertised, that it is an average value at best, that probably wouldn't hold up to heavy traffic for very long, especially if shoes are worn on it, but it does pull off the cowhide look rather well. It would be a good throw to help protect the floors of a play area for kids, to throw over a sofa to help protect it from visiting dogs, or maybe in a utilily/laundry area. Beyond that, something a little thicker and stronger might be better, as I think this would need replaced quicker than most.

This cowhide rug is much more realistic than I anticipated. The colors aren't flat at all. There is a ton of detail. It's super cute and very, very soft. The stitching is flawless. It's got a great nonslip backing so you don't need a rug pad. Machine washable is always a nice bonus. Do recommend.

Review of the YIHOUSE Cowhide 4x6 Area RugFirst, I think it’s important to note that this is a printed faux cowhide rug with a very low pile. It measures 4' × 6' and is lightweight and quite thin.The print does a surprisingly good job of mimicking the look of genuine cowhide, and capturing the irregular coloring and texture patterns with an almost 3-D appearance. In person, the print looks realistic enough that I actually had to touch it to confirm it wasn't real.This rug features an anti-slip backing that helps keep it in place. Would never know it’s not the real thing

I’m in love with this faux cowhide rug. Honestly, looking at it you would never know it’s not the real thing. The fibers that are mimicking, the hide of the cow look realistic feel realistic. And best of all I can put this in the washing machine? That to me is amazing. If I had anything negative to say it would only be that I wished it had come in just a bit of a larger size like 5 x 7. But this rug is exactly what I was looking for and I also enjoy that it’s rectangular and not a sculpted look like a regular hide rug might look. I think the quality of this rug is there. It’s got a non-skid backing that keeps it firmly in place on the floor and doesn’t shift at all. And there were no loose fibers of any kind so if there’s any worry of cow hair coming off, that’s not gonna happen. This is a nice rug and a very good price.
