I recently switched from drinking coffee to tea. I love the whole process of using a diffuser and trying different blends. I bought this box to use as a tea caddy and it's perfect. I couldn't be happier. It has a lock a key which is cool because all antique tea caddy's had a lock and key. The wood and construction is extremely high quality for the price. The silver tea spoon is hallmarked 1799!

The listing states that two keys are included, but my box arrived with only a single key. More concerning is the lock design itself. The key has a hollow end that is meant to slide over a small metal nub inside the keyhole. On my box, that nub is noticeably off-center. Getting the key to engage requires awkward angling and repeated attempts before it finally catches.As an adult, I find this frustrating. For the child this box was intended for, it would be even more so. Locking and unlocking should be simple and intuitive, especially on a keepsake box. Here, it feels awkward and unreliable, turning what should be a small, satisfying ritual into an unnecessary complication.The rest of the hardware reinforces that impression. The hinges and lock plate appear carelessly placed, with rough-looking recesses and alignment that does not sit quite right. While the box opens and closes, the execution feels rushed. I was frankly surprised when I opened this package. The box is bigger than I expected. It feels solid from the get go. The wood is gorgeous and feels very sturdy and durable. It reminds me of a cedar chest with the way it's made and the stylish appearance of the wood.There is a fair amount of room for storage with a divider should you choose to use it. It also locks. The key works to lock the box, but I would suggest being very careful with it. The key mechanism doesn't feel altogether as sturdy or reliable as the box, but again, it does lock.Given the quality of the acacia wood and the large size of the box, I feel the asking price isn't unreasonable. It functions as a storage box, keepsake box, or knick knack container. It makes a very nice gift for tweens to elders. In fact, it looks like a very expensive, well made gift of the keepsake variety. It would be nice to have the recipient's name engraved on it for extra sentimental value.Overall, I like the box quite a lot. As I said, I'd be careful with the key, but the box itself is top notch.
The box was packaged really well and protected. The quality of the box itself is great and it looks beautiful on our mantle. It’s not too heavy but it isn’t lightweight material and feels very sturdy and well made. The color of the wood is as pictured but prettier in person. For its size and quality, this is a good value. The only possible issue was the key can be a little sensitive so locking and unlocking takes just a second.
This is an absolutely beautiful "lock box" It comes with an extra "leaf" so you can separate and make the inside to compartments. I didn't use that, but i did put it in just to test it. The leaf is thick enough to not break easily (well I'm sure you could snap it with hands, but if you put a heavy piece of metal into it, it wouldn't slide through it without it breaking the leaf. The hinges are fairly strong/durable. This actually surprised me, I was half expecting ones that you had to be extra careful not to push or drop the lid back to hard or it would misshape them. I was wrong. The color is exactly like the picture. I don't have photo to add at the moment, but what you see is what you get literally. I would highly recommend this box to anyone! The key is like an old Skeleton key with gold paint (i assume its some type of paint).
