I'm happy with them

They came in great condition, faster than expected. There was a tiny nic in one of them on the top, middle edge that sits against the wall but once installed it's not visible at all. The one on the right is very sturdy because I was able to use all studs. I read other people's suggestions to wrap each metal pole with painters tape to make it a tighter fit and that worked great! The one on the left - that part of the wall only had one stud to work with around the middle of the mounting bracket. I used the anchors that came with the kit for the ends. Two of the anchors stripped while screwing them in so I could only use 4 of theirs and I used 2 of my own. I added a bunch of extra screws, especially into the stud I found, and wrapped with tape like the other shelf but it's still wobbly. I don't really trust it with heavy things but it will work fine for what I need there so I don't mind. I've never installed shelves before and I installed these by myself just following the directions and it was easy. I used a power drill. Overall great shelves! I love the look and the price!

Beautiful shelves

I only write reviews when I am really happy, or really disappointed. I am very happy.I bought 4 of the 36" shelves. All matched perfectly and none were damaged. Phew!Installation was as easy as could be expected. Have a good level on hand and follow the golden rule: measure twice, drill once (I measured 4 times easily). All 4 shelves were clearly factory manufactured, so all were exactly the same. All the brackets were identical and I managed to align all 4 perfectly. They each sat flush against the wall as expected. Yes, there is a very slight tilt up, which they acknowledge as intentional. It is barely perceptible, and besides, it is the way it is supposed to be. Getting the shelves on the bracket can be tough, as the poles may need to be pulled apart into the holes, but that only makes them more sturdy when done. For any of the reviews who said they did not mount well, I can pretty much guarantee that they did something wrong, either with not setting the anchors right, and irregular wall, or something else. I am 4 out of 4 for a perfect install.I followed the recommendations of others and used my own hardware to install. The anchors they supply are not ideal, and I showed them to the specialist at my local store and they agreed. I used #8 "EZ anchors" (the large white spiral kind the screw it, not drilled and hammered in) and 2" #8 screws, all readily available for a few bucks total at your local hardware store. On two of the shelves, I luckily had one hole on each bracket that lined up perfectly with a stud. On the other two, I was not so lucky. For those, I mounted the bracket using all 6 holes and anchors, located the stud, and drilled right through the bracket (to be clear: while mounted) and then screwed a large screw right into the stud. These shelves are not going anywhere!

Good overall, but may need a little extra work to install

After comparing several, similar shelves, we opted for this one. Overall, it was relatively easy to install and works fine. The shelf is light weight and hollow, and corners can chip easily (be cautious while installing). I agree with other comments to use you own hardware, as the provided will make large holes in the wall that are not necessary. The key is to get one (or more) screws into a wall stud. We had a limited space to install it (above refrigerator), and the the holes in the support bracket did not align to wall studs. So, after setting the height and wall location, I put a drywall screw in the center hole to hold the bracket in place. I then located the wall studs, and marked the bracket. I removed the bracket and drilled new holes for screws to go into the studs (it's carbon steel and easy to drill). I used long wood screws to mount the bracket into studs, so it is very sturdy. Also, the bracket is not very straight and the two support posts seemed to be bent upward a bit, so the shelf is not quite flush with the wall (photo). Not sure why this is, but it may be intentional or a manufacturing quality control issue. A heavier load will flatten it out, but our is relatively light, so I pulled down on the shelf to get it flush while I installed the set screws, and that seemed to help. A bead of calk will also make the gap much less noticeable.

Excellent Shelf and Quality Product

This is a great shelf! The shelf itself is very attractive (I bought the 36 inch ones), and the mounting bracket is excellent, well made, and sturdy. I prefer to use molly bolts (the ones with wings that spring open) to attach the bracket to the wall. As you tighten the bolts, they give you some flexibilty to level the bracket because the hole for the wingnut is larger than the bolt. I put one in the center hole (I slightly enlarged the hole by drilling, to accommodate a thicker machine molly bolt screw), and one on each end. The 3 molly bolts make the bracket absolutely unshakeable, and the shelf fits perfectly and without any play in it. Highly recommend this shelf, and recommend you use molly bolts rather than the expandable bolts that come in the package.

Cheap materials, its garbage!

Absolute garbage!BUY AT YOUR LOSS !!!Ultra cheap materials...Hollow core and the bracket pins are loose inside the shelf instead if snuggly holding the shelf. The bracket is attached solidly to the Wall, including to 2 studs. Shelf is not snug to the Wall and it flexes and moves up and down with the smallest of weight. The screws are very low quality steel that strip with a hand drive screwdriver. I had to go to the hardware store and buy quality screws to mount the shelf to the Wall. And then it's flimsy and moves. For this particular location... it'll do. Just small pieces of decor. But I'll be looking for a replacement, soon.
