Cool and Attractive Candle

Wonderful candle! I found the scent to be fairly subtle, contrary to some other reviews here, but very pleasant nonetheless, The wood wick is an interesting touch - I didn't realize it had one until I actually received the product. I can confirm that it was slightly difficult to light. I solved this problem by lighting the wick, allowing some wax to melt, then rotating the candle so that the melted wax near the wick was distributed more toward the glass wall of the container, giving the wick some room to "breathe." A couple of sessions of this (during which I did have to relight several times) and the candle stayed lit. I have not had to do any maintenance since.The candle looks great (the black version at least). I'm not really big on labels (sorry, Wax & Wick!) but the sticker came off easily with no residue. The wood wick does make for a nice flame and it does produce an occasional crackle and pop, which is cool.Overall, I am a happy purchaser - and with the "campfire" noises from the candle, I feel like a happy "camper" (sorry)!

Best Misunderstood Candle

Honestly, I loved this product but was hesitant when I saw a few reviews regarding the candle quality after 70% usage. Just like any woodwork candle you must properly maintain it to exhaust its full product life. Wax and Wick includes these cards in their packages explaining how to properly maintain to get its full useful life. Best candle I have purchased in a while, the scent is great, long lasting, not overbearing, very eco friendly and safe, and a great mood setter.I am sure others feel the same as I do and thought I would share, I am aware the candle is a little pricey, but the quality speaks for itself. I almost see this as the "Apple" of candles. You pay a little extra, but with proper use the quality is unmatched.

Uneven burn, problems with wick

UPDATE:This candle is effectively useless as even though I have tried to pull the wick out to be a little longer, taken out the spent wax, it continues to burn down short and then burn out completely within minutes. It just will not stay lit... kind of defeats the purpose of a candle. I'm not sure if they're just using a cheaper wood for the wick or what, but by getting cute and not using a traditional wick, this candle just will not stay lit. I'm throwing it out, and it still has 80% of the wax left. One star as the scent is irrelevant at this point.Original review:This is my second candle from this company. I really like the overall scents - I had the apple one before, and this Teakwood one is my second. However, the company really needs to either change the way it does its wicks, or replace it with a conventional one (which I imagine would be cheaper for them). Even after a couple of hours of burning, the light stays barely lit, and it's burning a tiny hole in the candle, leaving a tall wall of unburnt wax around it. I think the wick needs to be longer, set higher, or something.

Best scent of a candle I've ever smelt, but 50/50 chance you get a iffy wick

I absolutely love this candle and have recommended it to many people and even gifted to two who have also loved it. The Oakmoss scent is an incredible and perfectly subtle masculine scent that works great in a bedroom, bathroom, or smaller area. Quite literally everybody who has smelt it has loved it immediately so if you're trying to choose a scent, go with this one.My one and only problem is that all but 1 of the 5 of these I've purchased have had issues with the wick. It seems to get to a certain point after the 4th or 5th relight where the wick just does not want to stay lit no matter what you try. I've always been careful with not moving them while lit, but they still have issues every time.I really really wish they could get the wick issue sorted out because I have yet to find another candle that smells this good. I'm finally writing a review for this candle after having gone through almost 5 because my latest one is only about 10-20% down and already damn near impossible to get lit.TL;DR: Amazing scent, masculine and not too overpowering. Wick has issues staying lit.

Oakmoss scent is amazing!

Unlit, this candle smells amazing! The box itself even smelled wonderful from the candle! Love the style of the box it comes in and the glass jar that holds the candle. I have been burning the Oakmoss candle for a few days now & I absolutely love it. The smell is uniquely fantastic and does a pretty good job of filling the room. I also love the double wooden wick. The crackle is suddle but soothing, and I really like the larger flame that truly gives more of a fireplace effect than typical candles do. I haven’t had any problems with lighting at all yet...actually quite the opposite. Very easy to break off the top burnt sections and relight. No need for wick trimming as you can do it yourself 1-2-3. Burns very cleanly with zero soot! I like this candle so much that I just ordered the Teakwood and Mohagany scented candle to try out too. I’ll def be purchasing another Oak Moss in the future as well! Btw, customer service is top notch. I was contacted by Wax and Wick shortly after I received my order....they were checking if I had any questions/concerns & wanted to know if I was 100% satisfied. Very nice Wax and Wick! Good candle Bad pricing

This candle smells good as most candles do. There is not a noticeable difference between this and my other candles, the wick burns slow because its giant. I have a few slow burning candles. The down side is the price is terrible for what you get, I could buy 20 - 30 candles for this price at this size. This was recommended from a friend so I thought I would try it. I like it but I cannot justify the price, I purchased a candle from "better homes and gardens" in this same espresso scent for $4.97, I like it just as much as this one. Sad to say this seems like your just being exploited to pay almost $40 for a candle for no good reason. If you got the money to pay for overpriced goods please buy this candle.
