I bought this mostly to line a cheap rug for my vinyl tile living room's new occupant, a puppy. I was super pleased with the non slip facet of the pad--better than the non water resistant ones i have under my other area rugs. It doesn't feel cheap. As for the water proof aspect, well we've only had 2 accidents so far, and I've gotten them cleaned up immediately, however, the liner resisted both the pee and the rug cleaning solution. So that's a win, as well.

I did not find any directions on how to clean it. My Great Dane is on phenobarbital which increases thirst. He drank a whole toilet dry. This was under one of the rugs he chose to pee upon. Floor was dry under the pad.

Great pads. They added a touch of softness and insulation that my old latex pads did not have

These are good pads. Their adherence to the floor is excellent. I gave adhesion 4 stars because the carpets drift off of the pads, albeit very slowly. I have a pair of 9' x 2' hall runners. I notice once a month that my carpet has slid a tiny bit off the pad. It's trivial to reposition the carpet onto place. Your mileage will vary on slippage, depending on the texture of your carpet's undersurface. I am allergic to latex, so there is no way I am going back. The pad creates a softer feel to the carpet compared to the thin, mesh latex pads I had on the floor before. It also adds a tiny bit of insulation, which is important for my house since it is on a slab.

Protects the floor, but holds spills and odors

This rug pad is waterproof on the bottom, but absorbant on the top. Since it is not washable, it holds in liquids and odors. Not the best for pets and spills, it is too expensive to have to replace every time something is spilled on it. The only way to really clean it is to take it outside, hose it down and air dry it. It would be better if it was non-porous on the top.
