These shelves turned out beautifully for holding my plants

These shelves turned out to be excellent for a little plant area I wanted to set up. I was able to fix some plant lights to the bottom of the shelves, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.First, I like to say I really like the way these shelves were stained. They have an interesting staining pattern that was applied. It looks very organic, but if you are used to things being extremely uniform less organic looking, you may not be happy with the look. I would almost describe them as having a rustic look. The shelves are particleboard I believe, but I was unable to smell any kind of formaldehyde or any other chemicals. I’m extremely chemically sensitive and so I’m rather surprised that this set of shelves didn’t cause any issues for me.Setting up the shelves was really easy. All I really needed was a screwdriver and a quarter inch drillbit and obviously a drill. It’s also a pretty good idea to have a pencil handy to mark where you’re going to drill. There were holes pre-drilled in the shelves themselves, which made it very easy to attach the brackets to the shelves. I think in total the whole project, including attaching the lights, took me about 15 minutes. The set also included a level, which was nice to have.After setting everything up, the shelves really improved the look of the space I was trying to organize. It almost looks like a proper plant wall, even though I do not have a ton of plants in this particular area. I’m really happy with how it looks.I should mention that in the instructions, it does suggest that the shelves be secured to posts in the wall in order to ensure that the shelves have maximum weight-bearing capacity. I was unable to line up my shelves with the wooden beams in my wall and without attaching to those beams, I think the hardware is incapable of holding more than maybe 10 to 20 pounds at most. I think I probably have about 10 pounds on the bottom shelf currently which seems to be holding. The provided hardware included plastic anchors with metal screws, but if these anchors don’t end up holding, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem getting metal anchors which would allow the shelves to hold much more weight. I think with shelves like this metal anchors would be a better choice, but perhaps most people are not going to use shelves like this for heavy objects.The asking price is fair. I’ve purchased and received a number of floating shelves of this type in the past and I think this particular set is probably one of the better sets I’ve received. I’d prefer real wood, but I don’t mind this set. I’m actually considering looking for a larger size to match this one because I like it that much. I would recommend it if you were looking for a lower cost good looking set of shelves. Five out of five stars.In the picture I covered up the photo for privacy, but you can see the ceramic plant pots that I have on the lower shelf. The plant lights that I screwed into the shelves, turned out really nice.

I love the shelf

This shelf set turned out to be exactly what I needed for my laundry area. While the included wood shelf was nicely made, the color didn’t quite match the aesthetic of my bathroom, so I chose to use a piece of wood I already had on hand that blended better with my space. The brackets, however, are the real highlight of this set. They are extremely sturdy, well made, and feel very solid once installed.I mounted the brackets above my portable washing machine and now have the perfect place to keep my laundry detergent and supplies within easy reach. The brackets hold the shelf securely with no sagging or movement, even with heavier items on top. I also used the included hardware, which worked well and made installation straightforward.Overall, this is a high quality, versatile set. Even though I opted not to use the included wood for aesthetic reasons, the brackets themselves are excellent and perform beautifully. The durability, stability, and included hardware make this a great value for the price, and I would definitely recommend it.

These floating shelves were very easy to put together and install. The whole project took about 15–20 minutes, which I really appreciated. The wood itself is very lightweight, making installation quick and painless.I did choose to swap out the included hardware for my own drywall anchors, simply because I trust them more and know I can support a bit more weight that way. That said, installation was still straightforward and as long as you have a drill it shouldn’t take much time at all.The shelves are super handy.
