this is NOT natural jute - is "Jute-Look" - It is a good looking nicelly made rug.

I got the tan and black checkerboard square version of this Jute-LOOK rug. Please note that this is not in any way a natural fiber rug. (I wish the listing title were a bit more clear). It does say if you read into the listing that it is 100% polyester - which is also on the tag, and it correct. (Real jute is messy, you didn't really want that anyway!)I received the 2' x 6' long runner - it looks fabulous. The rug itself is sturdy, yet very pliable, and has a nice drape to it. I sat right down on the floor and flattened out nicely - the few folds from being packaged immediately disappeared. I didn't have to wait days of sitting it in the sun to put it to good use right away. No weird edge curling going on here either. Thankfully, there were also no weird smells because of the non-natural fiber that it is made of.There were no mfg , weaving, or binding flaws that I could see.. The weave and binding looks straight, nicely done, and appropriately firm. No frays or loose strings on any kind. There is a light rubber backing that keeps it in place on the hardwood floor very nicely. It does NOT seem overly sticky or gummy, or even scratchy. It should be quite "nice floor-friendly." THe black is printed on - not sure how, but printed for sure. Polyester itself usually does pretty good holding it's color in UV lighting, but I can't speak for the printed part. It does say it is for both indoor & outdoor, so be careful not to put it in direct sunlight for a little extra assurance keeping it looking good.Great rug - recommend if this is in your budget

Crisp and Fresh Looking

This VASOFE rug is a woven rug but not in the normal sense. It is not a backing with a pile on top it is a single later of coarse and heavy duty canvas-like material. I got the two color that they call Khaki and White but it not really khaki - more rusty straw color. But each of the color is a separate fiber. the lighter color is not quite white but more of a jersey milk or heavy whipping cream color. Each of the colors is pure so the the overall effect has a nice bright contrast that makes the rug look crisp and fresh.The whole rug has a weave pattern in that the border has a contrasting linear frame and a neatly sewn hem at the edge. the backing is a slightly rubbery coating that is grippy when you rub your fingers on it. It should do a good job of keeping the piece in one place and not sliding around the floor.I got the 5 foot by 3 foot size and it will perfect for our front door area over dark ceramic tiles.This is am attractive floor covering that will look good in a variety of settings. It certainly looks good in our setting.
