Not quite a five star rug

There's a lot to like about this rug. First of all, the pattern is pretty and cheerful. I'm not sure why the textile designer of the rug thought adding images of stag beetles alongside the butterflies was a good idea, but who am I to question artists and their art. I like how very thin this rug is. I know some people like thicker rugs or more pile but to me this is great. The underside is no slip material which is essential on a thin rug like this. Without the no slip this rug would constantly get bunched up. You can see from the short dog video that it stays in place no problem. Both the resident dog and resident cat seem to adore this rug. Not sure why but they took to it right away.So that's the good news. What I don't like is that they say this is washable. I know these days many rugs are. I would not chance it with this rug because I think that wonderful no slip backing will eventually shed and block the machines drain. (That happened to a similar rug I had in the past and the repairs cost a fortune - I'm not saying it would definitely happen with this rug. I'm just saying that I personally would not take a chance). My other nit to pick is that I ordered the black rug and while this rug is pretty, it definitely isn't black, but neither is it any of the other colors offered so I don't think they sent the wrong color. As another reviewer noted the color does not go through to the bottom of the fibers. Clearly color is on top with a white core. It gives the carpet a sort of stone washed effect. I actually kind of like that but it does make me wonder how long the color will last.Priced around 50 dollars seems reasonable to me for a 5x7 area rug but it's also going to depend on the rug's life span.BOTTOM LINE: a nice, extremely thin, no slip rug. It's not perfect but it's good enough and priced reasonably at around 50 dollars. This sort of very thin rug would also be perfect in homes that have older dogs that slip a lot. In the past I've purchased thin runners to help the larger older dogs but at the moment our current dog is young and spry. :)

I guess black is dark green to this rug maker doesn’t fit my decor but beautiful design

This is a nice rug that claims to be machine washable though my husband doesn’t think so and you better have a huge washer. I did order the black option and it seems that they sent the green instead, which doesn’t match my decor at all and it was a stretch going with butterflies and bugs anyway but I thought black would’ve been beautiful, but this looks to be the green option and I don’t like it. The design is intricate and beautiful, very detailed and it’s unique which is why I liked it in the first place I just can’t stress it enough that I got the wrong color and if I did get the black, it definitely looks green really green though it’s a darker green still not the black I desired so be aware when ordering the black option you may run into the same problem because that is the question that remains is this their version of black? It doesn’t look that way as I look at it more and more in the ad. It’s definitely a 5 x 7 rug and it is soft and seems good quality. I would recommend it if you don’t mind taking a chance on your color scheme. It is definitely a conversation piece with its super unique print. The piling is not that high when I received it it was folded up and I’m waiting for the seams to come out of it because they’re very noticeable. I’m doing what the instructions told me to do but so far no luck. I don’t know why they didn’t send it rolled up like a normal rug should be. I’m only giving three stars because obviously the color and the visible lines in the rug from them folding that I can’t seem to get out but if those weren’t issues, I’d recommend the rug

Great little rug

Item arrived well packaged and in new condition. The rug is a little thinner than anticipated but it has held up great over the last 4 weeks with 4 little girls playing on it nearly daily. Stitching appears to be high quality and the colors are all bold and attractive. Vacuuming it has not caused any damage and it cleans up quick and easy. The top later is relatively soft, and there are no sharp points or plastic poking out at the seams. I was a little hesitant about the rug initially because it was very wrinkly at first. The wrinkles flattened out the first week and it looks great now. Great product, worth the currenly listed $50 price.
