Perfect for what I needed it for and very easy to install. They are blackout and they work well to block out any light for watching movies. We did an inside mount and put blackout curtains over the sides where light leaks in. Love the top down feature, because these were over the windows that face the street where privacy is nice.
Well made and easy to install! These were great for my walkout basement windows. Provides privacy and room darkening or easy to let light in with the top down bottom up cordless feature.
With so many DIY projects on our list, it took us a while to purchase shades for the bedroom to install behind black-out curtains. A big factor: cost. We'd paid $200 for the bottom-down shades in our bathroom, for example.I couldn't believe when I saw these for less than $100 each! Much less. And these shades are so much more durable than I expected for the cost. My husband easily installed the blinds and, voila!, I can let the sunlight in while maintaining our privacy.I give these a 4/5 because they are a bit flimsy. I wouldn't put these in a kid's room, for example. But for our primary bedroom, where we only adjust the top-down option every now and then, these shades work well.
I love the top down bottom up design. These particular ones go all the way down as well as all the way up. I use the top down every day as these are in my bedroom and I like outside light but not people being able to see in. I bought some different blinds at the local hardware store that do not go all the way down, they stop at about 1/3. Not sure that’s a plus or not. The black out portion does a great job blocking the light. They darken the room mid day really well. The mechanism is smooth and easy to move the shade. I do think the quality is a bit less than the others, but also the price is less too. So the difference in quality is understandable. The top has a metallic strip that is a bit different than the others o bought, the color is white, but I’d say they look more crème color.
1 year later review: High quality, light blocking, worth the price!- Fits window very well- Easy / smooth operation from both top and bottom- Minor issue: Hard to get the top-most cell to stay at very top, pinhole level light peaks thorough
