This candle makes a great wedding gift
SteadStyle primarily sells memorial and sympathy gifts but they are branching out into other areas such as the current congratulatory candle. SteadStyle has their own websiteThis 7 ounce Lavender scented soy wax candle is “hand poured with love”. The vendor reports that the candle weighs 12.8 ounces. However, I measure the candle as actually weighing 14.558 ounces with the metal screwtop lid and 14.399 ounces without the metal screwtop lid.This is my second 7 ounce Stead Style candle, the first actually weighed just a bit more than this one. The vendor’s dimensions of the product are 2.9"W x 3.7"H. However, I measure 2.75”W x 3.5”H, so in conclusion, the candle is slightly smaller but heavier. The candle’s jar is made of 4.15mm thick clear glass and the vendor assures us that it is reusable. The metal screw top lid is not magnetic. The candle’s wick was unusually long and needed trimming. I dissected the wick trimming. It was all cotton threads, a couple of these threads are dyed brown but most are white. The wick is a flat wick and measures 1.46mm x 2.31mm.The vendor estimates that this candle has an estimated 35 hour burn life. I conducted a burn test on an identical SteadStyle candle which lasted for 4 hours over 2 sessions. The candle burned cleanly and evenly emitting a pleasant lavender scent. During that time period 0.773 ounces of wax was consumed yielding an estimated burn time of a little over 35 hours matching the vendor’s rating. However, please exercise caution. The National Candle Association (NCA) recommends not burning the candle once less than half inch of wax is left in the jar. So, if you comply with the NCA precaution you’ll likely get a little less than 35 hours burn time but the vendor estimate is very close.
