A Little Goes a Long Way

My husband wears Sauvage and I like the scent so I ordered this for my diffuser. It is indeed very similar and you can definitely smell it, but it is not overpowering. It is a small bottle but it has lasted our home. I have also mixed it in a small sprayer. If you aren't a fan of masculine scents, it is not for you, but I think it smells wonderful in our office. I think it is a good price for the bottle.

Savagely strong scent

Johnny Depp is (or at least was, before he went to seed) the “celebrity face” for Savage cologne (the scent on which this Suvage essential oil is based.) I have never taken a whiff of Johnny Depp, nor do I ever intend to if he smells as strong as this Suvage essential oil. Before I even removed the oil bottle from the box, the scent of overwhelming manliness permeated the room. Once I opened the bottle, the oxygen in the room became saturated with the scent. (Envision an unbathed teenager going nuts with body spray right before a big date. It’s that kind of saturated…) It isn’t a bad smell, but it is similar to a lot of deodorants featuring rather generic “ocean fresh” or “tropical breeze” scents. In any event, the scent of this oil is very STRONG. While it might be suitable to use in water- based diffusers where it can be substantially diluted, I would not advise using it in one of those waterless oil diffusers that are so popular now. Even as I type this review, I have the SEALED Suvage oil bottle sitting on my counter at least a foot away. I can smell it just fine, so I think if I want to enjoy the Suvage scent in my room, I’ll just open the bottle for about 15 seconds and then immediately screw the lid back on. In any event, it’s nice to know that if Johnny Depp ever is close by, I’ll be able to smell him well before I see him.
