Whimsical minis, but flaky finish

This set of four mini faux succulents is charming in its own way. From a normal viewing distance, the succulents themselves look quite realistic in both color and shape. Like most fake plants, they give themselves away if you scrutinize them up close, but on my living room end tables they read as playful little pops of greenery.The pots are small—about two inches tall—painted a deep red to mimic a mangosteen fruit (something I had to look up after seeing the description). Unfortunately, one of mine arrived with paint already flaking off, and a couple of others show thin or uneven coverage. The plants also slipped out of the pots easily when I unpacked them, though they were simple enough to press back into place.Because of the paint issues, these don’t feel especially sturdy. I’d be cautious cleaning them with anything more than a dry cloth, as I suspect more paint could peel away. On the plus side, they’ll be easy to dust, and they haven’t shown fading yet.I do appreciate the touch of whimsy they add to my mid-century modern living room. Still, as someone who designs spaces for a living, I’d have preferred an odd number—three or five are easier to style than four.Overall, they’re cute and add character, but the finish quality on the pots keeps them from feeling like a higher-end accessory.

Two are okay; two aren't.

I know these are supposed to be cute and quirky, which they are. They are tiny and colorful, and the pictures make them look adorable. And they are... kinda. The pots are heavyweight and sturdy. The fake plants are plastic and flexible. That's all fine. My issue is with the quality. The paint is messy and one of them had something white all over only part of the undersides of the fake leaves. I can't scrape it off sadly. And the messy parts of the paint can't really be covered. One of the eyes is bigger than the other on one pot which I wouldn't mind if the pupils were relatively straight or equal. Even though they aren't that expensive, I don't know that I'd gift these because the issues make them look cheap.
