Hang your curtains like a professional :)
The track- I purchased 14 feet of a double track to hang heavy and sheer curtains over a large window. After watching all the design videos, I decided to install onto ceiling and cover the whole wall. The track arrived in 4 pieces, two longer, two shorter. Nice thick aluminum, and pre-installed plastic running boards, to keep pulleys quiet. Very nice touch. All the screws and anchors were also provided with lots of extras. The instructions said to assemble it and then hang it. I went a different route, and installed it piece by piece, which I think made it a lot easier to measure and hold.Because I was installing 6 panels of heavy curtains, I wished there were more than two pre-drilled installation holes per piece. The aluminum those are made of is very durable and thick. But I was still able to drill additional holes. I also used large washers, just to make it extra sturdy while hanging off the ceiling. I also did not hit one stud with the pre-drilled holes, so I do recommend drilling your own additional holes for the studs. The pulleys - so very nicely made, with rubber wheels. Slide with ease across all 14 feet. The double track of this size came with 68 pulled. That’s total. 16 pulleys per meter of double track. And because I was hanging so many curtain panels, i bought additional 30 pulleys. Just made sure the measurements were correct, because there are many kinds of them out there.Overall it looks beautiful, sturdy, and I do recommend it. Especially if you need all the curtains to be pulled to one side of the window during the day.I however would not call it 100% silent. They do make noise, especially when going over the joints, but it’s not too bad, it could be worse. They really tried to minimize the noise with the rubber wheels and the plastic running boards. There were joint connectors provided. It took a bit of testing to make sure they sit correctly. But those really make the difference on making sure the joint gap is minimal.
