Love them! I’d say they are completely blackout. We purchased the grommet style so you HAVE to purchase the “wrap around” style rod and raise them a lot higher and wider than your window to keep the black out effect.. otherwise you’ll let lots of light in from the top and sides. LOVE the beautiful rope that came with it to tie the curtains open. It had gold accents on the rope which coincidentally matched my daughter’s room perfectly!

Love these. I wanted ~*whimsical*~ pink curtains on the windows in my all pink room, but also wanted blackout blinds because I suffer from migraines and when it was too bright in that room I couldn’t be in it.They’re super easy to slip onto any curtain rod you already have though you may need to play around with alternating the way the rivets go on until they look the way you want. They do a great job of blacking out the room, though the room is not pitch black during the day. They’re heavy and a very good quality and I love that they came with ties. I also love that the gauzy layer is sewn to the curtains themselves. They look effortlessly beautiful.HOWEVER - know that in order to style them like the photo you do need to have hooks or other anchors on the sides of the windows to tie those pretty included tassels to. I don’t have them, so I just used command hooks placed horizontally so I can slide the ties on and off, and they’re solid.
