This clock says silent but it's louder than any clock I've used. I thought the original purchase was defective so ordered a replacement. The replacement sounded equally as bad so I returned both Sharp clocks and it was a nightmare getting the return. It took contacting Amazon 3x, over almost a month, to get a refund.
