The marble container is nice but the candle makes a mess!
The first thing I saw when I opened the box was the beauty inside: a stunning black marble container with an elegant pedestal, holding a white soy candle, securely nested in black Styrofoam padding. Everything about it—from its nontoxic soy scented candle to its handmade marble candle holder (with felt dots at the base to prevent scratching a table or other surface)—says this is a high-quality (yet reasonably priced) item.As a bonus, after the candle has finished burning to the bottom, its holder is now ready for another small candle (votive or tealight size) of your choice, or to perform some other needed function (from office supply container to dessert dish). Second bonus: its hefty marble weight gives it strength and stability. Bonus #3 is a black velvet gift bag with drawstring for closure.A few added points: First, although the candle looks fairly sizeable in the Amazon product listing, I was surprised by its actual petite size (length: 3.4”; width: 3.2”). Second, although the product description says the candle aroma is lavender, to my scent-sense, it is more vanilla than lavender—or a combination of both scents. Since lavender candles can be overpowering to me, I am not disappointed. That said, the candle might be best suited to burn in a small space, where its gentle scent will not easily dissipate.
This candle is really nice—the handmade marble container and adds a touch of elegance to any space. The scent is pleasant and fills the room quickly. My only note is that it burns faster than expected, so it doesn’t last as long as I’d hoped. Still, it’s a lovely decorative piece and makes a great gift.
First off... Let's get a good look at the vessels the candles are in!! Man they look amazing! Marble?! Really?? These are cool even if they didn't have a candle in them! The soy candle inside burns way cleaner than a standard paraffin wax and less soot. High quality. And it comes as a set! You could buy and keep one for yourself and give the other as a gift... Or keep them both! Either way you could expect to pay double this for one candle in a box store.. and here you get 2! Super value!!
