Nice but lots of scratches

This mirror is beautiful and very good quality as far as how it’s made but tons of scratches all around the mirror on the bumps that stuck out and the edge. Luckily you can’t see them from far away but up close it’s pretty bad. It’s a heavy mirror but I was able to hang it myself. All the hardware needed came with it. It’s super unique and pretty so I would definitely recommend it, if this is your style.

Great mirror, inadequate fixings

This mirror is ideal for placing on a mantelpiece, in which case you can just lean it against the wall. But if you want to hang it, you will need to work out the best way for yourself, as the fixings are wholly inadequate. The screws and plugs are too small, and the slots they are supposed to fit into are flush against the back of the mirror, so you would have to bend them out just to get the screws to go in at all. I wouldn't hang this mirror on any kind of screws using these slots, even if the screws provided were adequate. I would get a French cleat and fix it to the back of the mirror (with care). But mine is staying on the mantelpiece. if it were not for its suitability for mantelpieces I would have shaved off two stars for the fittings instead of one; they are so hopeless.The look is very retro. I can remember seeing mirrors like this in the homes of elderly relatives when I was a child in the British countryside in the 1960s. This look is at least 1950's or earlier; I think it would work as Victorian.The decorations screw in and the angle can be adjusted. Similar fittings from the original era would be made of brass, and would also screw in. These are a nice little homage to a bygone era, as is the mirror as a whole.
