It is a heavier rug, which allows it to lay flat. A quality weight.Our Bernese puppy vomited yellow bile all over one end of the rug. I mean, bright yellow. I was very concerned it would not come out. I threw the the rug in the washer and washed on medium heat, extra dirty cycle. Dried it on bulky, low heat and it came out beautifully! No stains, no melted fibers from the drier. Looks brand new!I would love to buy this rug in other colors and sizes as they become available. This is a decent enough rug for the price. It looks nice and is well made, though after washing you notice some wear which makes me wonder if it’s truly a washable rug.
