I got this for my home office, which is very small. The room itself is only 11’ x 7’ and so I needed a somewhat smaller area rug to cover the wood floor. The one I got is 5’ x 7’ and though it’s a little on the smaller size than I wanted, that’s my fault.The carpet had an odd odor upon unpacking that was equal parts chemical and organic in nature. It wasn’t pleasant, but it did dissipate after 2 or 3 days. Maybe it just had been in storage a bit longer. I noted it again, very briefly, after I vacuumed it a couple of times, but I haven’t noticed it since. It’s a pretty low pile, but I don’t think I’d actually put it in the washing machine, given its size. I suppose one could use a commercial washer if you needed to, but I didn’t put it to the test.It certainly doesn’t move around much, but I did notice that my robot vacuum (Roomba) did sometimes get hung up on the edges, as they would get caught in the central brush. I didn’t have this problem vacuuming with my normal vacuum, so maybe it’s just the Roomba. So far, it seems to be holding up well, but we’ll see how it does over the longer term.Overall, I’d say the value for this is strong. There are a lot of carpet options available at this price point, but I’d say this one deserves consideration. It’s been holding up well and I’m happy to have it. The color and style fit the decor of the office well.

TLDR: Really pretty rug, should wash up well. I do like this rug so far, the pattern is nice, and it seems thin enough to go in our washing machine. I will say that it smelled a little bit like chemicals when I first opened it so I do get concerned about what it is actually made of! Also, even though I like that it is thin enough for the washer, I can see where the corners are probably going to start to curl up over time due to the lack of material sturdiness. We will see as we keep putting it to use. I do also wonder if it is a bit pricey, but I also don’t know enough about rug prices to say. I like it so far, and I can’t wait to see how it holds up over time.
