Good looking rug but "washable" is a stretch at 8' x 10'

This rug is woven in Turkey.This is a pretty rug with a thoughtful design and pleasant handfeel, but the supposed washability is more marketing than meaningful advantage at the 8' x 10' size.The Garland pattern is genuinely attractive. The beige and cream palette reads soft and neutral, and the Turkish motif adds interest without feeling busy. The low pile feels smooth and comfortable under bare feet. I would call this a medium thickness rug. Maybe on the thinner side of medium. It rolls easily and lies flat almost immediately. The low and relatively dense weave doesn't seem to shed, which is nice.Where it loses me is the practicality of "machine washable" in an 8' x 10' rug. In theory, polyester plus washability is great, but in reality, moving a rug this large, dragging it to a machine big enough to handle it, and then drying it is a major production. Spot cleaning and regular vacuuming are far more realistic for most people, so I don’t view the washability claim as a strong differentiator at this size.Regarding the Oeko-Tex certification, I can say that I used this indoor air quality monitor which monitors formaldehyde among other things, and there was no noticeable change in formaldehyde levels when I unrolled this rug or in the days following. There were no chemical odors.At roughly $499 at the time of writing, this sits at the high end of the washable rug category, and once you discount the practical value of actually machine washing an 8' x 10', you are mostly paying for design and a nicer feel underfoot rather than tangible maintenance benefits.If you love this particular pattern, want a low-shedding, low-pile rug, and are comfortable treating "washable" as more of a safety net than something you will realistically use, this would absolutely work as a long-term anchor piece. If you need easy, regular deep cleaning of the rug, I would only consider smaller sizes. We're really happy with this rug, forgetting about the washability it really is a nice looking rug and I think it will be with us for a long time.

A great area rug for any room!

The rug showed up rolled around a sturdy cardboard tube, and once I laid it out, I was honestly impressed.It’s has this southwest-inspired pattern that nice. Even though it’s described as cream and brown, it has a really warm, peachy glow to it that brightens up the whole space.It’s a tiny bit smaller than a true 8x10 (totally normal after the edges are bound), but it’s lightweight and easy to shift around until it’s perfectly centered.It’s medium thickness and surprisingly plush. My bare feet are obsessed with how soft it is!The back has a little grip, but we threw a grid pad underneath just to be safe. It flattened out in about a day, and—thankfully—the corners aren't tripping anyone up.The construction is solid—the knitting is fine, the stitching is even, and the border is bound really well. It says it’s machine washable, though I think my washer might put up a fight trying to fit the whole thing in there. Still, it feels like it’s built to last.All in all, It’s definitely on the pricier side, but the quality matches the tag. Plus, there’s a $50 coupon right now that makes the price much easier to swallow.

Beautiful Southwest quality rug

This is beautiful rug. It has a pretty Southwest design and its a soft beige color. It only comes in beige and orange. I wish they had more color options. With pets and small kids this would be hard to keep clean. It has lines of diamonds and a geometric floral border. It's medium thickness and its woven with soft polyester. This rug is Oeko-TEX Certified and its very well made. A pretty rug that you could put in your foyer to welcome guests or to bring some texture and warmth to your living room. It says its machine washable, but it's not. This will not fit in your washing machine. You could spot treat it and hang it out to dry. It is a little on the pricey side, but your paying for high quality. I would recommend this rug.

Pretty, high quality overall, flaw in serged finished edge on one side

After carefully cutting open the tight plastic wrap safely with scissors all along the long edge of the wrapping, I pulled back, with my hand only and nothing sharp, the thicker plastic covering over the end, and then when I unrolled it, I found that part of that serged edge had a cut and was loose. This is a very large, somewhat heavy rug to get into my small SUV for a return, so I am going to use fabric glue to “fix” what is supposed to be a fully surged finished edge but right now looks like fringe. It’s a section about 4” long. I had no type of cutting tool come into contact with that edge, so it was sent to me in that condition. The wrapping was intact, so it was not a shipping problem. This is a very expensive rug to have come with such a flaw.The rug, overall, is beautiful. Lovely creamy color, interesting pattern, easy low pile that I can run my area rug cleaner over and a material that seems like any dirt would come up easily. But I do have a flaw I will hopefully be able to make invisible enough and then hide under a piece of furniture, which I find greatly disappointing. I’m going to wind up using it in a room where I will be able to do that, but the Oeko-TEX Certification makes me trust that even though that happens to be the highest traffic room of the house it will be ok. This is the risk one takes with ordering things too cumbersome to return, I suppose.I don’t have the edge trim in the room I have it laid out in the photograph finished yet, but you can see how nice it is over a contemporary luxury vinyl floor. Despite the low pile it still has some contrasting depth, and a beautiful pattern. I only wish that it had come without a largish flaw, especially at its price point and overall otherwise high quality.
