What's shaking? (RIP Bobby)

Nothing's shaking on Shakedown Street. It used to be the heart of town. Those words have never felt truer. This is a nice display item to keep the legacy of the Grateful Dead in your heart. With the recent passing of Bobby, the end of an era is more true than ever. This sign is a way to bring that legacy home and celebrate his memory and the memory of Jerry and Phil and the others, to remember a time that will never be again.It's a nice quality sign. The colors are vibrant and it seems durable. The metal is thick and you can easily hang it with a few thumbtacks. The simulated amalgamation of different license plates evokes memories of being on the road, traveling from shakedown to shakedown in different cities in states across the country, following the band on tour. It would fit right in, hanging up in your music room, bar room, living room, hobby hole, workshop, or better yet... your RV.I was a little too young to ever see Jerry but I did get to see the core four many times in the early to mid 2000s and the final time they all played together in Chicago. Shakedown Street became a second home to me... A traveling village where you could meet new friends, find what you were looking for, score a miracle, and vend your wares. I miss those times... it was so vibrant and filled with surprises... it felt like anything could happen at any moment. This sign helps remind me of those amazing times and display a little piece of it back at home. It's a great way to keep on trucking the backroads of your mind.

Well-Built Pewter Sign with Basic Visual Detail

The pewter material on this sign made it very sturdy in comparison to others signs I’ve purchased max. It has 4 small holes riveted in each corner for ease of hanging and the back of the sign you can see each side folded over for added sturdiness. That said, the design itself looks very low resolution to me when inspecting it up close. This may not matter if you are looking at it across the room but because there is no raised lettering or detail in its production it just feels very “cheap looking”, which is funny because it’s a sturdy sign. It would have been nice if th lettering and detail on the front were higher resolution in my opinion

Decorative metal sign is a must have for Deadheads

This lightweight metal decor sign is a must have for any Deadhead! It’s 16” by 4”, has rounded corners and a small hole on each corner if you want to hang it up with nails. The colors are vibrant and gives the look of license plate letters pieced together to spell out “Shakedown St”, however it’s just one smooth, solid piece. The outer edge of the design is brown and gives a faux distressed look.The metal sign arrived bent due to Amazon packing it in a box that was too small, but this was not the fault to the seller or the product’s quality. Fortunately I was able to bend it back and it’s hardly noticeable.
