Be sure and measure carefully!

This is a sturdy, attractive, black metal curtain rod that I ordered to hang some curtains in my kitchen. I like that it's adjustable up to 48 inches, and honestly, I thought that was all I needed to know. Unfortunately, I missed a few important measurements before ordering, so I couldn't use the rod as it was intended.First, when I measured the width of my window, I didn't take into account the width of the finials (the decorative bulb-shaped parts that attach to the ends). You need to have at least 3" of space on either side of the window to accommodate them. One side of my window abuts a kitchen cabinet, so the finial will not fit on that side. I ended up not using the other one either because I thought it would have looked weird to just have one.The other measurement I forgot about was the depth of the bracket that holds the curtain rod. It reaches 4" from the window to where the curtains will hang, and is not adjustable. In our kitchen, there's hardly any space between the window and the back of the kitchen sink, so 4" means the curtains are hanging over the sink, not behind it. I went out and bought some decorative black J hooks to use instead.At the end of the day, the only part of this curtain rod I actually used was the rod part. (See my photo of the curtains hanging in the window.)I do think this curtain rod is a good value for the current price, which is comparable to others I've seen with the same length and features, as long as you measure correctly and can use all of it!

I am absolutely in love with this curtain rod! While the description mentions "Natural Wood," it is actually a sturdy metal with a beautiful wood-grain finish. This gives it a much more "heavy-duty" feel than I expected, and it looks incredibly elegant and high-end once it's up.What Makes It Different:Unique Build-Your-Own Length: The rod comes in several smaller pieces, so you can build it as short or as long as you need. This makes it so much easier to store or move because you can just break it down into small sections.The Perfect "Stretch": Unlike other rods, the ends of this one actually telescope out. This means after you’ve assembled your desired length, you can still stretch the ends for a perfect, fine-tuned fit. This versatility is unlike any other rod I’ve owned!Sophisticated Style: It has a wonderful farmhouse-meets-elegant vibe that fits perfectly in my home.A Note on the Ends (Finials):The decorative balls at the ends have a ceramic-style feel to them. Unfortunately, I accidentally dropped one and it shattered into pieces. This was totally my fault, but I want to warn other buyers: be very careful when handling the ends! They are beautiful but fragile, so make sure you have a good grip on them during installation so you don't end up with a broken finial like I did.Despite my little accident, I still love this rod and highly recommend it for the quality and the smart design!

best for lightweight curtains - use your own screws!

I have some blackout curtains that I wanted to hang on the inside of my bi-fold barn doors that lead into my music room to help with the noise. When I saw this Lootkell Retro Black Curtain Rods for Windows 66 to 120 Inches Adjustable Length Heavy Duty 7/8" Diameter Window Curtain Rod with Decorative Finials for Outdoor Farmhouse Bedroom Kitchen Living Room I was excited to try it out.This curtain rod has several sections that all screw together, and has two ends that telescope, for a precise fit. I used all of the sections, as I need to span almost exactly 120 inches.The rod was very easy to assemble, and seemed sturdy upon assembly. Since only the two far ends telescope, it was a little awkward moving it into position, as it was very long.Installation had a couple of issues. The three provided brackets are nice and sturdy, but the supplied screws can't handle much torque. The head of the first one sheared right off before the screw was tight. Even being very careful, we lost a second screw head during installation and had to use a different screw that we had on hand.I was pleased to see that my lightweight blackout curtains slide smoothly across the rod. However, the rod is sagging a bit in-between the support brackets from the weight of the curtain, causing the curtain to drag on the floor a little bit there. I'm not sure about the long-term durability with heavier curtains.Overall, I feel that this curtain rod is budget-quality and would work best with lightweight curtains. I would recommend using your own screws for installation. That said, it would with very well with sheers, and it looks quite attractive on the wall.
