Ready for Lent!I love that I can change the rock and figures at Easter to really show the full story.Better quality than I expected - and a good size! One of the guards shields had come off but it glued back on easily enough.

Like the more common Christmas Nativity scenes depicting the birth of Jesus, adorning yards and tabletops throughout the Christmas season, this Easter creche is a reminder of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. For those who know the story, it is the foundation evidence of Jesus death on the cross being accepted by God. His resurrection from death was the proof that God accepted Jesus' sinless life to be the only life, worthy to pay the cost of mankind's sins.The whole story can be found in any bible starting at Luke 24:1, Matt 28:1, Mark 16:1 or John 20:1.A creche is simply a model or tableau representing the scene of any great event.This little tableau has seven hand-painted characters represented from the story. Two are soldiers with spears, swords and shields who were ordered to guard the tomb. Two more appear to be Mary Magdalene and Joanna, friends of Jesus and the apostles, who were first to find the tomb empty. And one male character, who likely depicts Peter, who ran to the tomb to see for himself what the women had reported. The only other character presented is an angel overlooking the scene.The whole scene is set against the backdrop of the tomb with its round stone doorway rolled back. Inside the cave the grave clothes can be seen laying on the rocks. Outside the tomb, a palm tree stands with a white dove perched in its limbs. Each character is hand painted meticulously with style and colors germane to the characters depicted. As an added effect, there is a battery-powered LED that can light the interior of the cave.I had never seen an "Easter" creche before, but I like the idea because it represents the actual meaning of easter instead the made-up "painted eggs", "baby chicks" and "bunnies in a basket" that have taken the holiday over, the same as "Santa" took over Christmas.I did have one problem. Two of the characters were broken when I opened the box. Even though the pieces were packed in Styrofoam, some had fallen from their slots and were able to move about. One soldier had a broken (off) arm, and a palm tree limb was lying in the bottom of the box. I was, however, able to easily fix both with a drop of superglue.I am still very pleased with this creche and plan to set it up in the lobby of our church when Easter rolls around again on Sun, Apr 5, 2026. This would make a great gift for anyone who believes in Jesus.
I love this eight piece Lighted Easter resurrection scene set! This set is well-made and so nice. I love that it lights up. It takes two AAA batteries and it looks so pretty inside. It comes with six figurines and one angel figurine and it also comes with a cross and a palm tree with a dove on top. It does come with a stone that is supposed to be the stone that was rolled away. It says He is Risen on the stone except the stone doesn’t stay up by itself. The bottom of the stone is not even so it falls forward, but I just put the tree in front of it to keep it up and it’s fine. I am so excited about this set. I cannot wait to put it up for Easter! It looks so pretty with the light on and inside of the tomb is a white blanket that’s painted in there to represent the cloth that Jesus was buried in. It’s very accurate biblically speaking. Great price for such great quality.
