They are nice and plush for carpet tread, plus having the noses go over the edge makes them a lot more comfortable and safe-feeling to walk on. We got the cream color for our basement steps. We've had them for several months now and haven't even needed to wash or even vacuum them yet--just use a hand brush to brush away some paw dirt.
