This item takes three AAA batteries which are not included.Inside the box, you will also find a small gift card to fill out and give to your loved one when giving this beautiful gift. This glass-domed floral display is surprisingly beautiful! The only artificial piece I can see is the butterfly -- the rest are genuine flora. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was really pleased to open the box and discover that it's actually a really nice quality floral display! Two roses, some hydrangea, and some fern, moss, and other dried flowers. Very well packed for safety. It requires 3 AAA batteries (that you supply) to light up the inside. It's lovely. And the dome can be carefully removed if you need to adjust or clean inside. I'd say it's a decent value for the money - a bouquet that lasts all year!
