It actually is just preserved in the sense that its a fake rose protected by the plastic dome on top. The box is also plastic. This will make a lovely gift for just about anyone at any age. Although, the insert that comes with the necklace says, "To my love", the necklace can be removed and presented by itself to gift to others. Under the necklace packet is a velvet foam slotted for presentation of the necklace. Encased in the top is a forever rose. A real rose, preserved to last many years to come. The whole thing can be used as a small jewelry or trinket box also. The outer boxing makes an impressive experience for the recipient as well.

The necklace itself is very beautiful. The cuts are clean and the jewels shine. The chain is nice and long, allowing it to be shortened to whatever length you choose.The box is just OK. It has a very plastic look and feel to it, with seams and the clear lid becomes not so clear pretty quickly. The typical plastic fogging occurs.The drawer is nice, pulls in and out smoothly and is cushioned.The bottom of the case is hollow with a thin piece of cardboard covering the hole. This makes it feel even cheaper.

It’s okay

This is a mixed bag for me. On the positive side, the rose itself is very pretty and does look quite realistic at first glance. The display is also nicely presented and would look cute on a dresser or shelf.However, once you look closer, the base of the flower looks like cheap cardboard, which immediately makes the rose feel less premium and more artificial overall. The necklace is also a letdown — the stone is very dark and doesn’t look convincing, and I could not find any information about what the chain is made of. That’s a big concern for a gift, since unknown metals can easily turn skin green. I’d be embarrassed to give someone jewelry that did that.The included quote card is also odd. The listing makes a big deal out of it, calling it both “romantic old poetry” and “romantic ancient poetry,” which is strange since it’s just a short Dickens quote. It’s also marketed for relationships like mothers, where “romantic” feels like the wrong word choice.Because of all this, I’m planning to replace the chain, throw away the card, and gift this to a preadolescent child in my family, where it works better as a cute decorative keepsake than as a serious jewelry gift.Overall, it looks nice from a distance, but the materials and presentation don’t feel gift-quality up close. Nice idea, but the execution could be much better for the price.

What a stunning gift! I recommend, I recommend, I recommend! The packaging for this jewelry piece is stunning, from the box to the beautifully designed rose drawer. Its Tiffany blue color sets the expectation of something special inside. But even before you open the little drawer, you'll already be feeling like the apple of someone's eye. The preserved rose is a gift of its own, but the dainty necklace inside really says you are loved. There's a beautiful inscription on the necklace card. So, if you're not a person of many words, don't worry, it says enough. This isn't fine jewelry, so set your expectations accordingly. I do think it's an above-average piece of costume jewelry. It's a thoughtful gift that's inexpensive, but not cheap.

I really wanted to love this preserved rose and necklace box, but the presentation fell short. The rose itself is pretty and the necklace is fine for the price, but the box has a very noticeable seam running right through the middle of the cover. It’s the first thing you see, and unfortunately it makes the whole gift look cheaper than it should.For something meant to feel special and elegant, the poor finishing on the box is disappointing.
