Refreshing Summer Citronella CandleI’ve tried countless scented candles, but this citronella candle stands out for its balanced blend of functionality and style.It’s a cylindrical shape with a minimalistic design, so it doesn’t clash with my living room’s modern decor or my patio’s rustic aesthetic.Within minutes of lighting, the aroma fills my living room. when I tested it on my patio during a barbecue, guests commented on how the fresh scent cut through the grill smoke. After 8 hours of use, there’s no tunneling (a pet peeve of mine), and the wax melts down smoothly.I was worried the citronella might be too sharp, but it’s surprisingly well - balanced. The top notes are bright citronella, but they quickly blend with a subtle lemongrass earthiness. The base note is a warm herbaceous tone that lingers without being overwhelming. It’s perfect for summer.no black smoke, even when I forget to trim the wicks.All three of these fragrances are very refreshing and not overly strong, making them ideal for hot, humid summer days when mosquitoes are abundant.However, if you prefer a stronger scent, this one is not the best choice.If you want a candle that checks all the boxes—stylish design, effective scent throw, long burn time, and clean ingredients—this is it.

A pleasantly scented vanilla 3 wick candle

This 14.1 ounce, 3 wick, soy wax pomegranate-vanilla scented candle is sold by KTFKTF. The candle is made in China and KTFKTF is a Chinese company.The manufacturer’s dimensions are 3.5"W x 4"H. However, my measurements are 3.9”W x 4”H. The manufacturer weight is listed as 16 ounces. The actual weight of the candle with lid is 32.699 ounces and 31.651 ounces without the lid. The reason for the weight is that the candle wax is contained in a thick container made of frosted glass. The lid has a rubber gasket built into it to help prevent the fragrance from leeching out of the candle over time.The manufacturer rates this candle as good for an 80 hour burn time. I conducted a burn test on this candle. The candle burns cleanly and evenly with no tunneling. I enjoyed the gentle pomegranate-vanilla scent and found it to be quite pleasant and relaxing. The initial burn test lasted 8 hours and 49 minutes which consumed 3.552 ounces of candle wax. This yields an estimated burn time of 35 hours to consume all the candle wax. I was surprised by such a short burn time and decided to extend the burn test to make sure my estimate was accurate because this is the first three-wick candle that I’ve reviewed. As the burn continued, I measured regularly and found that the time estimates increased as the testing went on. I ended up burning this candle for over 26 hours split into numerous burn sessions. Each time the estimated burn time increased a little bit until the final estimate was 43 hours and 10 minutes after having burned well over half the candle (8.545 ounces of wax). I figure that this slow trend of increased burn time will likely continue over the life of the candle and that the final burn estimate if I burned the entire candle would be a bit over 50 hours which is a lot better than the initial 35 hour estimate but still far short of the manufacturer’s 80 hour estimated burn time. Also, please keep in mind that the National Fire Protection Association cautions that one should stop burning a jar candle once only half an inch of candle wax is left which is going to reduce that 50 hour estimate by a few hours.So, what’s happening here? It’s common for 7 ounce jar candles to have a 40 hour estimated burn time. Why wouldn’t a 14.1 ounce candle with double the wax also have double the burn time? I believe the answer is the 3 wicks, that could reduce the burn time by up to a 1/3rd, 80 / 3 = 26.67 hours. However, the KTFKTF candle is lasting for almost double that amount of time so we can’t really be too disappointed by this candle’s performance IMHO.
