Great basic roller shade. Easy to install. Reasonablypriced. the bracket didn’t work for a shallow inside mount but was fine for a outside mount. Didnt measure but think you would need at least 1 - 1 1/2inch depth for inside mount. Seem durable and sturdy. Definitely blocks light.
The product is excellent. Initially I was just going to buy one because wooden blind I had previously installed stoppen working. It was supposed to be a temporary fix while I made arrangements to install plantation blinds. But once I installed it, I noticed it was a true blackout and it does keep the heat away pretty good, so I ended up buying three of them. Now, it does feel cooler and nobody can tell from outside whether there is light in or not, which is an added safety feature. Having said that, the last of the three curtains I purchased was damaged. Initially, It did not go up at all, after getting to the end and giving it a pull, now it stayed rolled up and could not hold it down. I had to secure it with clothing pegs just for it to stay down while I contacted customer service. That was another ordeal: if you click on the return link in the Amazon page, it will take you to the vendor's customer service page which they don't seem to check, at least, my message went unanswered. So now I had to contact Amazon customer service, and because it is a custom-cut product, it was sent back to the vendor. The vendor tried to resist sending a replacement as much as they could. They told me to fix it myself and they sent me a video with instructions on an Asian language for me to follow. So no, this would not work. It seems obvious to me that I am not an expert in this and nothing prevents from my "fix" to go wrong after a while once the return period is over. I paid $160 for this product and I paid to have one that works. After quite some going back and forth, they eventually did send me a replacement. And it does work, just like the first two items that I bought. The five stars are this for the product, not the experience.
On the plus side: The shades were easy enought to install. I did a inside mount and it may be best to put the brackets towards the back of the window frame (to minimize light getting through). I had one complaint and the company responded promptly and professionally.The shades to roll-up nicely, but a bit slow.My major complaint was that the sides of the shade fabric had a curl. I measured my 24" shade (which is a smaller width) and found about a half inch curl on the sides compared to the center of the shade. After a week I decided to look for another shade that tended to lay straight. I also think it would be best for the company to supply a pan-head screw for the inside mount (I used my own pan-head screws), as the screws they supply are not really the proper screws that should be used (their screws will work, but not the exactly the right type).
Persilux is a rare find and we are so pleased that we discovered them. From the moment we purchased until my installation of the room darkening shades, Persilux we with us. Immediately following the order they contacted me asking for my installation plans and suggested we take 1/4 inch off of both ends. We agreed, and happy we did because they fit perfectly. As the order progressed that kept us advised on their manufacuring, then shipping from China and finally from the port to our hope. The overall time was approximately 10 days. The shades are of high quality and stunning! My installation guided by simple instructions and all the hardware - extra in fact. I reccomend them highly!
The custom size shade I ordered for a bathroom window fit perfectly. The product was exactly as described and cut to my precise measurements. The company contacted me after I placed the order to verify the measurements given them and to ask the exact dimensions of the window frame where the shade would be mounted. The shade arrived when promised. It was carefully packed and came with extra screws and mounting brackets. Since the shade was fairly small, I only needed to mount two of the brackets which required the drilling of 4 pilot holes for the screws. The whole job took about 10 minutes. The shade and component parts are made of high quality materials and I was very pleased with this purchase.
These shades are a great value for the money spent. The measurement process made sense and the shades arrived as expected. We are happy with the quality and thickness of the shades. We also had a slight issue with the handles and after contacting Persilux, they sent out the replacement parts very quickly.
I measured my windows myself and bought the correct sizes for the inside of my windows! I took my husband a few weeks to decide to put them up I think because he thought they were gonna be difficult to install. He was able to install them without any problems quickly and easily. We are both very happy with the purchase we bought for two windows, and will buy for additional windows they provide black out And are slim and easy to use as well as safe because they do not have any chains or ties to have to worry about getting stuck around kids, hands or pets playing with them. We will definitely buy additional shades. I do wish they had different options for a bottom trim because I do live in an old house and would love to have a more traditional bottom , that is scalloped or has a different trim to make it look a little less like a modern device and a little bit more in keeping with a traditional lock, but I will cover them with curtains and maybe even put my own trim on the bottom to dress them up a little bit but they serve the purpose of black out light when sun is beating down in from outside
