I purchased 2 of these rugs, and glad I did!
These runners are perfect for my winter Florida home. They also have the feline seal of approval! I spent a fortune (4× the price of the house) , that I inherited from my mother. I wanted the house to have a complete upgrade from the years of being the dumping ground for antiques that were , just not right in the northern homes. I decided on an eclectic mix of Tommy Bahama West Indies, and Norway's leather custom Stressless furniture. Modern handmade fine furniture, with a dash of antiques, like a 400 yr old library cabinet. The kitchen now has top of the line cabinets, beautiful granite, and stainless appliances. As a relative was a famous Florida landscape painter, the house has become a tribute to the relaxing elegance of a tropical home. I ran across a flawless 50's bamboo collection, that reminded me of a scene from Cuba, in the Godfather 2. The quality is unparalleled. Even the tall lamps had hand carved parrots. And every piece of seating is 9 way hand tying. Even the 9 foot couch, which separates. The halogen style floor lamp , standing over 6 feet, is distressed metal with palm fronds, and hand blown glass, that looks very much like the rug runner. This is the new addition before the tropical pool.One runner matches the kitchen to a T, as I have a palm platter from New Guinea, inlaid in the granite backsplash over the stove, and stainless and glass range hood. The other runner fits in front of the grand dresser in the master bedroom - all hand carved with palm fronds, as is the huge mirror above. The runner matches the granite bedroom floor, and next to the Tommy Bahama West Indies canopy bed, every thing ties together, as if I had the runner custom made.I am amazed at how beautiful these runners fit right at home. The price is just ridiculous. I would never find runners like these, if I searched for decades. And the cats love to sleep on them. I have worried about the 5 grand living- room Stressless chairs, so this diversion is more than welcomed!I will update with pictures, as soon as my housekeeper is able to come back to clean. She is accustomed to my inability to pick up a vacuum, but Covid distancing will earn a well deserved raise.If you have a tropical theme home, these are a steal! And a must have.Update, October 28, 21The runners are still as great as day 1! However, one of my 20 year old cats has taken to going (number 1) on the bedroom runner. Arggh. I picked up a helpful tip from the first reviewer. I am getting down on all fours and scrubbing the daily gifts. Even though a clean box is not far away, and used for number 2, I am in charge of scrubbing. The housekeeper wants to machine wash this, but I trust the results witnessed by reviewer 1. So far scrubbing has really worked, and how can you fault an old gal. I am purchasing a new runner for when her days are passed. Cats were desert creatures originally. That is why their urine is so strong smelling. They retain as much body moisture as possible. I had forgotten how little these runners cost, but replacing them daily would be insane. If I knew how to teach an old cat new tricks, I would have a world wide best seller, and so I forgive and scrub. Like the huge windows, my housekeeper leaves these jobs to me. I awaken to that awful gift and thankful that I live alone in my Florida home. How could you allow another human to suffer with this? Strangely, this does not happen at any other home I own. Oh, thank you! I wish I knew how to alter this behavior, but the rug stands up very well to daily scrubbing. Even with a scrub brush the runner looks just great, so against all odds these rugs are a great deal- and really nice to look at! Next to all the beautiful interior design these runners hold their own. EZ 5 star purchase! I also added the bath hand towels in the kitchen. Strangely, each towel cost more than the rug runner. So if you have Tommy Bahama tropical furniture( or look alike) this runner is perfect! I have an MFA in Architecture and in Interior Designer, if this helps. I try to follow up most reviews a year or so after I have lived with and kicked the tires of purchased items. Especially, if items are expensive. Most everything seems great out of the box- hopefully. But what really matters, especially with big buck items is, are you really happy you bought this? This is why I follow up. I wrote this because I am doing my daily duty, and I still really like my runner!
