Well made

I decided to get these blackout curtains to add warmth and block light in my bedroom, and they ended up being a great upgrade overall. I have been using them daily and they do an excellent job keeping the room dark while also helping with temperature control. The velvet fabric feels soft and heavy, giving them a high quality look that hangs nicely without looking stiff. The metal grommets have a brushed gold tone that looks more upscale than expected and slide smoothly on the curtain rod. They block out a significant amount of light and help reduce outside noise, which has been great for better sleep. The length is true to size and they pool slightly at the bottom for a clean, elegant look. Overall these are a solid choice if you want functional blackout curtains that also look stylish and well made.

Definitely not blackout

To start off with these are absolutely gorgeous velvet curtains. I really appreciate the attention to detail with the curtain rings as they do have a retainer to keep them from pulling out. However, unfortunately these are marketed as blackout curtains, and they are unlined. This unfortunately limits my use of these to a backdrop as opposed to the blackout curtains that I had anticipated being able to use. Because they are not lined I'm not sure how soundproof or thermally insulated that they will be. I will use them in another location but this is very disappointing considering the price.

Absolutely gorgeous looking, but not lined

I ordered these AOWELLOW Olive Green Velvet Curtains to use in my sunny south-eastern facing bedroom. From a looks perspective, these are straight-up 5 stars. The olive green is this beautiful, rich, moody shade that’s not too dark and not too bright, and it has that luxurious velvet sheen that makes the whole room feel elevated and cozy. The fabric feels velvety soft to the touch, super smooth and plush, and they drape beautifully with nice, elegant folds. They look more expensive than they are.The gold-colored grommets add a nice touch of sophistication, and make the curtains easy to hang. They arrived folded with some crease lines, but after washing them (normal wash cycle on warm) and drying them (on low heat) all the wrinkles came out. I didn’t have to iron them. The curtains glide smoothly and effortlessly when I open or close them, no snagging or sticking, and they feel sturdy and well-made overall.That said, the main letdown is that they let a lot of light in. They don’t have a second layer or back lining, so light still filters through more than I'd like, especially in direct sunlight. My room gets overheated and way too bright without proper shading, and these don't block enough light to keep things cool or dark. They're semi room-darkening, at best.Also, since the back is the same olive-green color (no neutral lining), they show green from the outside of the house, if that's something you care about for curb appeal or you have a strict HOA.They definitely look gorgeous, but if you're needing real blackout or insulation for a bright/hot room, you might want to layer them with something else or look for a lined version. Great for style and softness, just not quite the full functional win I was hoping for.
