True to size, great anti-slip

I'm impressed with this anti-slip, sound-absorbing rug pad. The anti-slip performance is truly phenomenal. I have a particularly frisky cat who treats every rug like a launchpad with his zoomies. Nice and thick rug pad

The waterproof rug pad came ready to use. The pad itself is made well and nice and thick. There is a non slip rubber backing on the back of the pad that feels waterproof and durable. The top layer feels great and is soft overall. Putting this pad under your rug definitely adds a nice bit of cushion to a rug too.I did notice a very slight odor to the rug pad but that was only when I first opened the bag it came in. The smell was a very faint rubber smell that dissipated almost immediately after. I like the fact you can customize the size but I didn't have to cut the rug pad as the 5 x 7 fit my rug perfectly.Overall this is a quality rug pad that protects your floor and helps stabilize the rug. Waterproof yes, cushioning no - but overall good

This 5x7 carpet padding arrived folded up in a plastic bag so it wasn't that big. When laid down there were many folds and creases in it which will take a while to flatten out - you aren't going to see them anyways. One side is felt (not super soft, more durable than that) and then the flipside is rubber. It is 1/8" thick as advertised which is pretty thin. Don't think you will be getting any cushioning from this pad. The reason I was interested was because of the rubber coated backing. Every once in a while I have to clean up cat puke and the carpet gets pretty soaked after cleaning... I needed to prevent water from seeping through to the floor and this does exactly that. The rubber back is skid proof enough, but if your floor is dusty or dirty it still may slide. Clean your floor first. The price is right for the size that it is. If I was going to need it any bigger, I would probably look for one with more cushioning, but for a throw rug it's fine.

Grippy

The rug pad came folded in a plastic bag. One side is a very grippy rubber waffle pattern and the top side is a heavy gray felt. I got this to put under a few runners on wood flooring to keep them from slipping, replacing the typical rubber underlayment you can find at the hardware store that disintegrates over time. I cut the 5x7 piece with a utility knife quite easily. The pad does not slip at all and the rugs on top of the pad stay in place nicely. The pad is not cushioned, so if you are looking for that, this isn't for you. The pad is not at all noticeable under the runner rugs. This would also work great on a larger area rug that lacks a non slip backing.
