For the price, as good as it gets.

I'm rating these based on the curtains themselves, irrespective of color, the color that I received, "cloudy white", and the cost to quality ratio.The curtains themselves are actually the best blackout curtains I've had, in that they block 100% of the light and look the best while doing it. The material looks more like a natural fabric than less expensive ones I've tried. Typically the outer fabric portion of blackout curtains have a more durable, synthetic appearance. These present themselves much more like actual non blackout curtains. What's doubly impressive is the inner lining isn't black like many blackout curtains. It's a neutral shade that matches the curtains. I find it quite unsightly when you pick out a beautiful color that matches your decor, only to have that contrasting black fabric lining. It completely throw off the aesthetic and projects as cheap.I'd say the thickness is commiserate with other blackout curtains, though because the material does feel soft and looks more like a natural fabric, they appear thinner and look better. I'm not sure why others claim that these aren't 100% blackout, as the ones I have block 100% of the light. Perhaps they are referencing the light that comes in above the curtains and other areas, but the fabric itself blocks 100% of the light. It might be prudent to purchase blackout curtain rods, which do help with light seeping in on the sides, or get blackout shades that install inside the window frame if you want almost total blackness.The color is very neutral and very versatile. It may not be the ideal color for every situation, but it's not a detractor. And there are many situations where it will be exactly what you want. I'd say it leans a little cool, as I don't detect any yellow, but it can work with so many aesthetics despite this. It's just so clean and refreshing that it either further accentuates a clean and aesthetic room with lots of neutral tones, or adds a pop of airy freshness that compliments a room with dark or multicolored tones.Maybe the one caveat is that that outer material does wrinkle a little easier than the other curtains with the more synthetic, durable outer fabric. I did wash these, and while the other curtains I have left no sign of wrinkles, these do have many wrinkles. This isn't a huge knock on their performance, just steam them and you're good to go until you wash them again. And you trade that wrinkle vulnerability for a better looking outer fabric, which is a trade off I'm willing to accept. The price is right for blackout curtains like these that excel in areas that matter most, fabric, performance, style, color and price. If somebody asked me for a recommendation, I'd immediately turn to these.*NOTE- the photo of them hanging is before they are washed to demonstrate their appearance before washing, and so you can see what kind of light comes in, especially if you hang them low. I would recommend hanging them high and washing them before hanging them permanently.

Beautiful Drapes are a Real Bargain

First, a confession: I have purchased Nicetown drapes and curtains several times. The reason I keep buying them is that their curtains are top-notch. Right now I have their room-darkening drapes in my bedroom and I love them. The quality is always high and they look and feel very high-end.I was thrilled to receive these drapes since I already love their products. But to make it even better, these drapes are cat-resistant. My cats love to look out of the windows (they're indoor-only) at the squirrels and birds. In fact I have a climber right in front of the window in my home office.I'm not saying the cats are rough on them, but my old drapes have pulls and picks all over them and I was despairing that I would ever have anything decent in those two very long windows. And then I saw these. It was the answer I'd been looking for, plus Nicetown's the brand I've come to know and trust.When I received this pair, I immediately put them up. (They are a beautiful shade of blue, although for some reason, almost everything blue in my home comes out gray-looking in photos). And they match the furnishings in my office. They're really easy to put up. There are three ways you can hang them: 1) purchase and use hooks that attach to the top, use the rod pocket or make use of the back tabs. I used the rod pocket and they hang perfectly. They don't have grommets, even though one reviewer mentioned grommets. There are no grommets on these babies.I originally planned to see if I liked them and then order another pair for the second window and I did just that last night. I also ordered some tie-backs since they don't come with the drapes. I like the stationary wall fixtures where you simply pull back the panel and drape the panel inside it. They are usually made of some type of metal or plastic. I ordered metal ones.I haven't needed to wash them yet, but I have washed many pairs of Nicetown curtains and drapes in the past and they wash very well. I don't dry them, I just put them back up on the rod and they air dry without any wrinkles.I originally bought my first pair of Nicetown curtains because the price was unbeatable. I keep coming back because the quality is so high and they STILL are priced better than any comparable curtains or drapes I've seen.These drapes have a lovely linen-look to them and they hang beautifully. I've told my cats to have at them. I have confidence they won't be able to shred these. And I can recommend these drapes to anyone who likes a well-made bargain. They won't be disappointed.

Pretty curtains

These curtains are pretty nice. They're a medium weight fabric, and although they don't keep 100% of the light out, they do block most of it.In the picture I included, I hung the curtains directly out of the packaging. The fold lines mostly hung out in a few hours, but they needed ironing to get all of the creases out.The length of the curtains is perfect. I ordered the 84 inch length, and they're just the right length. They seem to be made from a durable fabric, and they have stood up well to cat scratches.
