OK, in full disclosure, I'm a marine biologist by training, so I'm usually a push-over when it comes to ocean-themed items.I jumped at the chance to review this item when it appeared in the list of available items.At first glance, and even second, you will think that this piece is made of stained glass, but it's actually wooden. There are two layers, with the white scroll cut layer on top of a turquoise back layer.The wall hanging does a nice job of filling space on large open wall spaces (see photo).The hanging comes with wall anchors and screws to hang it with, but IMO, this is overkill for this piece. So, instead I just used a couple of nails. This way the holes are smaller and much easier to fill later, as needed.I like the size, shape, and design of this piece - it's a humpback whale, BTW.There are two hinged metal loops, one near on the head and the other on the tail for hanging.I truly love this piece.5 stars

Beautiful piece - would love a larger one

I really like this whale - and smile every time I walk past it. The geometric shapes add so much character and personality to this whale and really make this piece unique. The colors are a bit muted and this piece looks weathered on purpose. It has two little notches on the back that allow you to hang it and since it's a whale you don't have to perfectly align it - you can put it at any angle you wish. I think these would look great in a group and would love to see additional sizes of these whale for that purpose.

Great Quality

The whale wall art is so pretty I loved it the moment I saw it. It is pretty big so did have some hard times finding somewhere to put it. However it looks so nice and pretty and very well made and durable. If your a whale lover like me you know its hard to find whale related stuff so was so happy when I saw this. Only quarrel I have is hw much of a pain it is to put up due to the hitches they use to put them up. You will need someone who is good with a leveler and can measure perfectly to get this perfect.

We’ve had a wall painted blue for years, waiting for the right thing.This whale was perfect — exactly what we needed.The wood frame is white, but “beach-worn.” The blue is solid (not transparent).Two hooks are attached to it on the back, and it’s light enough you probably don’t need a serious anchor. But four anchors and screws came with it, which feels like a little overkill.Definitely the center of attention!
