    Often at my home, a crow visits me, and we bring each other gifts. Me to him food, him to me little notions that sparkle that he finds around the beach here.There are also "sea ravens" or cormorants which sit near the bank of the lake behind my house. Majestic creatures.Needless to say, there are countless ducks, geese, and swans who do visit me unlike the cormorants every day. I love birds.I saw this little statue, and I was skeptical. I have a bit of a collection of stone animals (and even a darth vader helmet in obsidian). When I saw this, I thought I would give it a try, and with an overnight shipping order (got to have that coffee). At first, I was going to go with garnet (which I don't have in a statue form) but I chose this obsidian as it will sit by my darth vader helmet and green fluorite wolf I bought from another seller on Amazon. Something about a wolf and a crow ... we have both here where I live, and probably a few darth vaders I haven't met.The item was wrapped in brown paper, put in a plastic zip bag, and was in another plastic wrapper that held a black jewelry box that had foam in the bottom. There is a stamp on the plastic wrapper said Made in China (mentioning in case you were gifting this). If I were gifting directly to someone, I would probably intercept this first then remove that wrapper. Other than that (and again, it depends on the recipient whether I think they would care where this was made) I could send directly to some loved ones.The item is gorgeous, in my opinion. Not overladen with detail, and it doesn't need to be, in my opinion. It is smooth and without cracks that I can see. It feels soothing to the touch (already been contemplating bringing him with me on my travels, I like him that much). The little girl in me wants to name him, too.Obsidian is something that supposedly helps with grief. I'll take it, losing my younger brother suddenly last year. The birds and little wins like this raven which is a good value for the money, functional with me or on my desk in eye view reminding me of the birds who sometimes might be mediums for those passed beyond. It is a good but not super heavy weight, so I could see myself taking this with me in my purse, in a wrapper of course so it isn't damaged, for comfort as I might be beginning cancer treatments soon.I love him and will definitely be gifting more of these as I'm known as the bird- duck- cormorant- lady to my loved ones. I hope that if you order one, it turns out as wonderful as mine <3
