I ordered this to replace a set of frames that were scratched and I returned. This set of frames is perfect! Also included is all the hanging hardware plus a set of gloves to eliminate finger prints on the glass. I’m very happy with these float frames especially when the price at Michael’s is higher and some of their float frames have a piece of plexiglass for the back side of the picture, not real glass.
These frames are sturdy and very well made. The wood is honey colored for a warm look that draws the eye to the picture, not the frame itself. The glass does not fall out like others I've tried. I just received them and already put my grandmother's handwritten postcard in one, and the picture of my grands 50th wedding anniversary in the other. I appreciated the full hanging kit packed between the frames. It contains screws, hanging brackets, glass brackets, glass cleaner cloth...even a little tape measurer, a bubble level, and 2 pairs of very stretchy, tiny gloves. This product is built with quality materials, well assembled, sturdy and good looking. I might decide to buy another pair and paint flowers or hot glue semi precious stones to them for a different look down the road. Right now I am thrilled with this purchase and would highly recommend this product for yourself or as a gift. It is that good.
These frames are incredible and well made! They are not cheap looking or difficult to use. They come with everything you need including a glove to ensure no fingerprints! I have not attempted to use them on a wall or hung them yet- but i have no doubt they will work great. Easy to put together and a great price.
While all the supplies needed (not including a screwdriver), I didn't realize that I would have to put the metal bracket hangers on the frames myself. They are nice, but I am not convinced that the glass will stay in place and not fall out of the bottom of the frame. They look nice, and all the supplies are included in a nice plastic box - nails, brackets, screws, measuring tape and even gloves to keep your finger prints off the glass. However, I would prefer a more sturdy frame that is ready to go.There are braces included to force into the bottom of the frame holding the glass in place. I'm worried they will not hold and the glass will fall out. I would have preferred something attached to the frame that I swing into place to hold the glass. For many people, I'm assuming that they wouldn't mind screwing in the brackets and forcing in the braces to hold the glass in place. I'd just prefer something ready to go.It is a nice product, but I'm not a handy person, so I'd prefer to not use tools.
This is a great floating from with two pieces of glass and great instructions. But what really impressed me was all the little installation enhancements that came with it. There are little (they really are little...even on my big female hands) white gloves, hangers, screws, nails, a tiny level, glue patches and even a tape measure (which is helpful, but it should be noted that the "Inches" side is not accurate. I measured the frame and it came out as 8" x 8", when I ordered a 10X10. Then I used my tape measure and saw that although the tape measure "inches" are divided into 1/8" sections, the inch is actually 10/8 of an inch. Kind of funny and still worked for what I needed.) Note that the frame is 1" in depth, so the picture will not hang tight to the wall. There is a slot at the top for the pieces of glass to slide into. The installation kit comes with little clips to hold the glass together. The kit also comes with some funky nails. As you tap them into the wall, the nail part slides further into the plastic piece. I used a dry erase marker on the backside of the glass to mark where the artwork needs to be placed. The kit comes with little glue droplets that were easy to place and use. Since it is hard to get custom matts in atypical colors without paying a lot, this frame allowed the wall color to come through which worked well for this Sargent (the artist).
These glass frames are cleanly engineered with a neat fit between the glass and wooden parts, and the package kept all of it, including the glass panes, safe for shipping. Hardware for hanging, and even a glove for handling the glass during installation, is provided. The overall effect is great for artwork that benefits from a bit of translucency.
