Mothers & Daughters ARE HUGS

I ordered this as it made me think of mine and my daughter's relationship over the years. We were both born to our own generations but close enough to be aware of the other's experiences. My generation began in the middle of a revolution, the one I should have missed but due to my education evolved quicker w/my entry into the tail end of free love and hippies with much older friends. My daughter was more steadfast, focused, a more solid character that held ideas filled with changes, needed for us all.Interesting to say there are those odd moments in time where it seems as though I was revisiting myself from a backward facing mirror. In reality, realizing it was my daughter I was witnessing the changes, so similar to mine but these were hers. The music changed but how it moved each of us through our own life's stages remains the same.My daughter, now grown, long married, had 1st daughter years later into marriage, very happy and comfortably a family until there was another surprise, it's a boy, 8 years after sis! Strange how fate/history becomes reality. Revealing to some souls 'it', history aka fate, does repeat itself. With a wink, a nudge and echoes of laughter for good cause, the joke played on us, was done in good humor, to do a repeat performance of what I can only imagine was due to being pleased with the originals, us, my daughter, myself and those we would continue life with...ours. Just had to wait for time and God to show his plans unfold day by day to years to generations. He did not disappoint. As He had given to me, so was my daughter given. Upon the birth of her daughter, she went back to regular life not knowing 8 years later she'd get the same surprise I had gotten, another child, a little brother! The only difference between this fact was the #, I had twin boys, she got off easier! That's about the total of our similarities, living life. We are opposites in every respect as far as looks, she has Native American by her paternal grandmother. She is a perfect blend of Germanic & Eurasian on both sides with that strong Native American still seen in her grandmother. She is so very pale, more than me which comes from my mother w/strawberry blonde complexion. She has porcelain skin with naturally medium brown hair, same as mine. Our eyes are the great divider and reason for everything revealed to this point. I have very lite colored green eyes, they are almost clear appearing at times, this clarity of color is from mom. She had the most beautiful ice blue eyes, that when seen straight on were glowing. That is how mine appear in many old b&w photos especially, only green glowing, yeah odd. Then there is my daughter with the darkest brown/black eyes you can imagine, they are unique unto her, you cannot see anything in her thoughts seeing those eyes. You can drown in them as they are bottomless. She'd be one fabulous poker player!That which in the great scheme of things means nothing, genetic alterations over time, interesting in how it changes, comes back around, etc.. What is so special is what you see within those eyes. Even with my daughter's beautifully glistening black eyes, as they are, they show incredible compassion, love & all that she is within being infinite.I think of her often as that young daughter in my mind's eye with her huge dark eyes...always deeply seeking...acceptance, love, all the good you had to offer. I hope I provided what she needed. Now I hope in different ways, that she knows how much she is loved for just being herself, which is a high bar for most anyone's standards.I wanted to be able to show her how I feel, all the words that convey those emotions of her presence. This figurine renders the feelings I wanted to convey simply & completely. After all is said, done and finished. Comfort is found sealing the love in a hug.This is a perfect value for sharing feelings or commemorating just "being" for those you think of most but probably say least, that and more of all that fills your relationship is the love. It's always the love you feel when you see your child's eyes. No matter how old you, I and ours will become there will always be the eyes. The eyes I stared into were so old for so new a soul. So much was revealed just looking into each other's eyes. Before there were words, there were your eyes.

Beautiful little gift for my mom

This little statue was the perfect early birthday gift for my mom. It arrived today and I had to give it to her. Purple is my favorite color, so I love that there was an alternate choice from pink. Sunflowers are also my favorite flower and we both have dark hair, so it’s frustrating that so many of these types of statues are blonde. Honestly, for me, it couldn’t have been more perfect. I’m not a little girl anymore, I’m much taller than she is. But this sentimental gift is like a little step back in time to remind her that I will always be her little girl who needs her to lean on. It is EXACTLY as pictured so there’s no need for me to add a photograph. It is absolutely perfect, the flowers are all painted or colored perfectly and there are no defects. It comes to you very securely packaged and boxed, so it’s ready to ship directly or if you want to get it and see it and wrap it and ship it yourself, you can be sure it will arrive perfectly intact. I love that it’s resin as well and not a delicate piece that would be easily broken if knocked over accidentally. She loved it. I saw that look in her eyes and that smile that told me that it was bringing back the same memories that it did for me. I know that reviews are meant to be less personal, but this needs the extra words. It looks like a pretty, but simple statue… but it’s the sentiments that it inspires that make it well worth the price.

My daughters and I love sunflowers - they're kind of our thing, you know? When I saw this figurine, I knew I needed it.It showed up packaged very well, encased in a block of styrofoam with the shape of the figure cut out and then the piece placed back inside on top of it.It appears to be made out of a solid piece of resin, and I don't see any small pieces I would worry about snapping off easily.It's a pretty good size, too. It's not incredibly small - but it's also not overly large. I'd say - guess only - that it's about 5-6" tall? and width-wise, it's proportionate.If I had to pick ONE thing I didn't like, I'd say that the flowers aren't painted as prettily as I would like... but that would only be if I HAD to pick something. It doesn't really bother me, and when viewed from a distance (across the room), it's not noticeable at all.Now, I just have to decide which of my daughters to gift this to, lol. Or, maybe I'll just keep it and when I look at it, I'll think of each of my daughters and a special time spent.
