Is gold the new nickel?

I ordered this rod with a nickel finish which turned out to be an odd gold color and had a spray painted, easily nicked and chipped finish. My husband installed it while I was away so no chance of returning it. Disappointed in the quality.

One was damaged, badly.

They’re kinda gold colored, not exactly brushed silver. One of the three was damaged so badly it can’t be used. Was too late once it was opened to return due to project timeline.
