Nice cirtain rod, solid and sturdy
I needed something for a curtain in my bay window for every day "pretty" and to be able to draw curtains across at holiday time, as I have cellular shades on each window pane but for holidays I wants to leave them open when the window is decorated. As 95% of the year the curtains will be at the side i wanted a bar that gave as much space for the curtain to sit on as possible so the wrap around ends are perfect. There is a set screw on the ends so you can easily take the bar down if you got it up there level. I actually messed something up a bit and one end doesn't want to come off but I can get the curtain on and off easily. The instructions show end brackets with circular ends so there's no vertical/ horizontal issues. There is a rectangle on these. I am sure it's supposed to go vertically for leverage but if I did that the curtains wouldn't reach the floor as I want them too. They don't come longer so I decided since these aren't heavy and won't be moved usually I'll put it horizontally. I don't even think I need the middle support but I figured I should, my span is 100 inches. It feels nice and solid, the bar has a nice thickness to it. It doesn't even wobble as I slide the curtain across. The recommended drill bit is too small, I almost ruined the anchors trying to tap them in. I went up 2 more bit sizes. Then it went in so easily I was worried about grip but it's perfect. Since I was not looking for function, but only looks, in the curtains I know my 2 panels aren't full enough if I was drawing them nightly but since I want maximum viewing and will use my shades for privacy it's fine. I wish it was $10 cheaper like a bronze one I was looking at but for this quality I can't complain . I have no doubt it'll hold 2 more curtains without a problem if I get them. I also think it looks sleeker with the bracket horizontally. I recommend this and is buy another in a heartbeat if I needed it.

Great rods. Here are some helpful installation tips
Some of these negative reviews are probably because people didn't understand the installation process. The mounting brackets come attached to the rod, but there is a little pressure screw that easily comes off. Don't lose this, it's TINY. Mount the brackets to the wall, then the rod to the brackets and replace the pressure screw. Some said the center support was too short. Again, it is attached to a mounting bracket with a screw. Remove the screw and extend the center bracket to the depth needed and tighten the screw.The mounting brackets are shown as horizontal in the image, but can be turned to vertical if that's your preference. The color is a warm brushed gold, not shiny.When you mount the rod, include the rings, but not the drapes. Wait until it's all assembled then hook the drapes to the rings.

Gold 48-84"
I purchased the 48-84" in gold. It is NOT the average "warm gold" that most home decor comes in, but straight up bright glitter spray paint gold. Not bad looking, just doesn't quite match my decor. That being said, the curtains pretty much cover it all anyway so it'll work fine.Pros:Seem well made and durable, could hold some pretty heavy curtains without bowingEasy to install/assembleColor is pretty, if not quite what I was going forCons:The screws that come with it are huge super heavy duty hardware, so they're more difficult to work with than most (I just switched and used some smaller ones I had on hand)The screws that tighten the hardware onto the mounts and the ones that attach to the wall are very visible when mounted, and they are not painted to match the rodThe rod is nearly as thick as a shower curtain rod, so be careful if you're using smaller/delicate rod pocket curtains as they may not fit over it. I was making my curtains so I just made a larger rod pocket than I normally would with the medium weight cotton I was working with

Great product and customer service
I purchased this curtain rod about 8 months ago. After my husband installed it (within minutes) we were pleased at how simply beautiful and sturdy it looked. Since then we adopted a pup that loved looking out the window. Now he is a 60 lb dog that still loves to look out the window but pulls down on the curtain as he leans on the cloth to watch the birdies. Just as he was trained not to do it anymore, the curtain rod wall mount broke. I called the manufacturer, Merriville, and within a day they were sending me replacement mounts at no cost to me.
