Nice but not blackout

The curtains are a better quality than most, so here is my honest review. Pros: Solid quality weight to the panels, and they look good hung on the rod. My color (aqua blue), is pretty accurate, although this is a very muted color blend. The light gray in this blended color actually produces more of a very light aqua blue effect, and will go with many colors schemes that have no relationship to the aqua color. These are in my bedroom with muted neutrals except for a painting on the wall that has shades of blue and aqua in it. Cons: These arrive very very wrinkled straight out of the package. Why? Unfortunately, unlike other curtains I have ordered the past several yrs, the plastic zippered package is square... not rectangular, resulting in the panels being folded into a tighter configuration to fit the smaller packaging. Perhaps the seller failed a basic physics/science class that would have explained this problem 🧐. Therefore , I recommend having the panels professionally steamed. Otherwise, you'll need a really good steam iron and the patience to spend 40-60 minutes per panel to get the wrinkles out which is what I did. LOL. You will also need to steam iron this on the backside, bc the color shifts slightly with some gray silver streaking where the iron goes over the fabric. Luckily, this doesn't show through to the front. I ordered 4 sets (8 panels), for two windows that measure 45" x 45" since I wanted a lot of fullness. Lastly, and most importantly, these are NOT blackout!! I have 100% blackout drapes that are much nicer in my family and dining room, and this is more like a 75-80 percent blackout, depending on where you live. The meter in the listing's image shows full blackout/number 5. This is absolutely false. My bedroom windows receive a SW exposure in a very hot climate, and I have light streaming through between 12 noon to 4 pm. I will have to add an inside curtain on a tension rod to reduce the light coming into the room...the reason for 4 stars
