Finally found a non-toxic candle that smells divine and lasts for a long time. I've ordered the diffusers in a couple of scents from this brand and can't wait for them to arrive. The Ode to Winter scent has a slight powder scent with warm undertones. So good! Will be ordering more candles from this brand again.
What I really like about this candle is the fragrance of this “Ode To Winter” scent. It smells like clean soap, mixed with some vanilla cream, mixed with some minty berry, and dipped in a chocolate finish. I really like this scent because it’s super strong, it has a really good strong cold throw, as well as a really good strong hot throw. I also like the names that they pick for their candles because they’re very true to what they smell like, this candle reminds me exactly of winter and it has the essence of being outside in the cold weather, on a good day and in a good way. I like the presentation that these candles came in, this candle came with a mesh protective cardboard net inside of a nice decorative informative box that tells you more about the candle. I like that you can tell that with the quality of glass they used to make this candle, as well as the presentation, and of course the really great strong scent, that’s original and doesn’t smell like any other scent, that they put a lot of great quality work into making this. It burns really well and I like that it’s going to last me a really long time because I’ve had it lit the past few days, and it’s still pretty full, and still smells super strong.There really is nothing that I don’t like about this candle, I like everything about the scent, to the presentation, the look, and the size of this candle.Overall, I’m so glad that I did find this candle with this amazing scent that has my room smelling super clean, and like winter. I will absolutely recommend this candle to all my family and friends, and to anyone looking for an amazing candle, that looks great and smells amazing, I would also recommend this to you too.
I chose the ‘Ode to Winter’ fragrance and it’s a very pleasant powdery & flowery gourmand, it has a freshness to it, not cloying like gourmands can be if not blended properly with other notes. The jar is large at 19.4 oz, it will last quite a long time (90-110 hours per the manufacturer). I appreciate that the candle is vegan and free of phthalates and other toxic VOCs, including the wax and the fragrance. The scent throw is strong…I’m using this in my office space and I exclusively ‘burn’ my candles with a flameless heat lamp. Thus far, no soot around the rim that would result from there being the presence of harmful chemicals – in my case since I’m not actually burning the wicks, as black smoke and soot can otherwise also be produced from burning the wicks too long without trimming them down before lighting. I love the aesthetic of the jar with its deep blue and ‘M’ logo on the side and contrasting white/black label. It looks chic modern. I wasn’t familiar with M&SENSE before now, but I’m happy to have found them and will be trying out some of their other scents. I think the price point is fair given the overall quality of the candle!
This has to be one of the best smelling candles I've ever had. They call it "Ode to Winter", and I can see why, though it can also be used during the other seasons as well. This is a juxtaposition of scents, all mixed to solid perfection. There is citrus, wood, amber, maybe a bit of rose; it's hard to tell honestly. There are so many scents going on it's hard to tell, but they all combine to give the smell of waking up on a January morning, going outside in the chill and ice, and taking a deep breath. It is one of my favorite scents, the most amazing smell out the outdoors on a winter morning. This candle has that almost to a "T". I use it with a candle burner so the wick smell doesn't cover the scent. It's a soy candle, so that helps with impurities if you do burn it.
It's a candle. It's not a bad candle. The scent is very "powdery", if you are that sort.
I will say that the scent is really nice, but it is far from strong. It's very subtle in the air and doesn't fill a large room with fragrance. These candles are long-lasting, however, and so far do not seem to show much evaporation after several hours of burn time. I just wish it was as strong as advertised. Also, lid came dented despite impeccable packaging to prevent damage.
This candle smells wonderful when not lit. It still smells good when it’s lit, but it smells different. There is something in it, maybe the cumin? That makes my head feel kind of fuzzy when I smell it. I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s not a bad smell. It just smells different than you would expect. I guess I don’t associate lemongrass and cumin with winter but somehow it works. This is a clean, light scent and is not overpowering or flowery smelling. This is a two wick candle and it is huge. The container it’s in is absolutely gorgeous and is a great addition to my kitchen countertop. It is slow burning and even after several hours of use, the wax level has barely gone down.
