Love it!

This review is for the 11.3 ounce “medium jar” Ocean Waters candle. A “large jar” is also available from M&SENSE. M and Sense (Suzhou) Arts and Crafts Co., Ltd. uses American grown soy to manufacture their quality wax in the PRC which is where this quality candle was made. M&SENSE has a really nice Amazon store front and an attractive web page of their own that describes their full line of products. They manufacture an extensive line of soy candles.The candle looks great and it’s a unique look. The candle looks like a miniature version of an industrial drum used to transport liquids. The pleasant blue green color of the metal drum is reminiscent of the ocean and water, matching the scent of the candle. The metal top fits snugly and the metal even has an imprint on it giving the appearance of a valve that would be used to extract liquid from the full sized equivalent drum. My verbal description can’t do it justice so I am providing a picture as well. The imprint on the metal tells me that a great deal of attention has been paid to little details which really enhances the look of the product.The instructions say to trim the wick to a quarter inch but my wick was already the perfect length and ready to light. I conducted a burn test and found that the candle burns cleanly and evenly. The candle gives off a pleasant ocean breeze scent. Surprisingly, the wick never got too long to the point where it would need to be trimmed which was quite impressive.My burn test was conducted over several sessions that totaled 7 hours and 20 minutes of burn time. I weighed the candle periodically to determine the rate of wax consumption assuming that 11.3 ounces of the total weight was wax. Based on my calculations, if I was to burn the candle until all the wax was consumed, it would last for a little over 101 hours. Of course, I will add that the National Fire Protection Association recommends that you don’t burn any candle with less than a quarter inch of wax left in the container, so your practical burn time will be somewhat less than my calculation that assumes the total consumption of wax. The manufacturer rates the candle life to be 100 to 120 hours. I almost always find these manufacturer ratings to be optimistic estimates measured under optimal laboratory conditions. However, this one was pretty close, likely largely because of the high quality wick.

Smells Nice, Packaged Well

Let's start out with the good things.1) It smells pretty good. It has that typical "Ocean" style smell you always get in candles/sprays/etc. It is decently strong.2) It was packaged quite well. Under normal circumstances, I don't see it getting damaged during shipping.3) I can't speak for it lasting 70 hours, but it is smaller than most of the 40 hour candles I get from other places... but those have 3 wicks, so it may very well last 70 hours.And the downsides:1) It is a single wick candle. While it hasn't burned enough for me to be certain, I suspect it will have the typical issues you generally see with single wick candles.2) It had a weird... liquid of some sort all along the top of it when I opened the top. No idea what it was, possibly some of the scented liquid used to give it its smell?3) It is tall rather than wide. So if you only have normal matches or a normal BIC style lighter... I imagine you will have trouble lighting it once it has burned for a while without burning yourself. I suggest getting a rechargeable candle lighter.The downsides are easily mitigated for most people, but they were there so I did take a star off. If I can remember to do so, I will come back and update this to say whether or not it burned for anything close to what it says.

Crisp clean scented candle

I have ordered quite a few M&SENSE candles and I find they are generally nice quality candles for the price point. This Ocean Waters candle has a crisp refreshing clean scent and it's perfect for the summer. I have used this in my bathroom's candle warmer and it gives off a really clean scent when you need to cover other odors. I've also used it in the living room and the scent travels across the room. It comes in a cute baby blue metal tin with a lid so you could definitely leave this outside on your deck as well.

Nice Candle

This is a nice candle. The vessel is high quality (paint doesn't peel with the heat), and there's no risk of glass breaking with a metal container. It sorta looks like an oil barrel, with the two ridges. So maybe not the most feminine, despite the turquoise color.Good scent; has lasted a long time, and the wick is easy to light. Very easy to use and enjoy.

Ocean Water smells like candy

I didn't expect the scent to smell like candy or specifically it smells like Aqua Digio mens aftershave. When men wear that they smell like candy to me which is yuck. I love the oils they said they used but this does not smell like that to me. The packaging is really attractive unfortunately it is hidden in the back of a cabinet because I can't stand the smell.
