David Bust Bookends Not Being Used For Bookends!!

My husband & I have become enthusiasts of the famous Michelangelo’s David sculpture & own many replicas of him. Two of those are from this company, Lukitas. We own their translucent red resin David bust statue that’s also a tea light candle holder. If you haven’t seen it you should go find it asap because it is beautiful & we use it almost every single day. The second David replica from Lukitas would be this set of bookends which we are choosing not to use as such. We believe placing the two face halves together looks much better than separating them with books. It is however really lovely to have the option. I always say that Lukitas creates functional art & they prove it time & time again. Yes, many of their statues are for decorative purposes only but they do in fact create many which combine both beauty & utility. Blurring the line between a traditional statue & a functional piece of decor. This is a high quality statue + bookends art piece but there it one thing I would have loved to see & that is the velvet adhesive that’s placed on the bottom of most Lukitas art, I would have enjoyed seeing that on each piece in the center where the two meet. I believe it would have added more elegance however I’m not entirely sure you could add it & place the two together if wanting to use solely as decor, without creating a gap. So IF if could be done without a gap then I would have loved seeing that. In conclusion, I adore this art piece or these two bookends. 😊 I love being able to have it pass for a statue plus it looks fabulous any & everywhere. Adding it to our David bust collection has been joyous!!

Beautiful and modern bookends

I intended to use these bookends in my sewing/reading room on a bookcase, but when I took them out and photographed them in my living room, they looked so good that I don't want to move them.They are well-made and well-designed. They have a classic but modern feel to them that will look good with so many different styles of decor. I could see these working in a modern minimalist style house, as well as southwestern, and even transitional style. I tend to mix styles to create a unique flair in my interior space, and I don't have anything else like this, but it works so well! These are elegant and understated, but they give personality to the space that they occupy.I am a fan of these bookends! Sadly, they will not make it upstairs to my fun space that is only for me, but I spend more time in my living room, so I will get to enjoy them more often.They are a good price for the style, size, quality, and materials used. They are a good investment to give a space some style, and they are great for book lovers, like me!
