Total blackout

These curtains definitely deliver on the blackout factor. I’m talking TOTAL blackout. These work great to completely block out the sun, so we can sleep in a little longer, or take a nap in the middle of the day. I am happy to report, we’ve done both, with amazing results 🙃. I also have a motion light that comes on through the night, and shined through my old curtains, not with these curtains!I got these in the khaki color, and it is beautiful. It looks like linen. They are a heavyweight curtain, but not so much so that it weighs down the rod. The grommets are well made, and slide smoothly on the rod.These curtains feel (but DO NOT look) like plastic. They are 100% polyester, and they feel like it. The inside is a black, kinda shiny plastic. The outside definitely looks like linen to the eye, but to the touch resembles a shower curtain. This may be good in the sense that they will not stain like linen or fabric material. I don’t necessarily have an issue with it, but is certainly worth mentioning in this review.The one critique I do have is that they are very wrinkled. I took them out of the package, and they were really wrinkled so I washed them on a quick wash cycle on cold. I hung them while wet, and they are still wrinkled. I was reluctant to dry them, being they are so plasticy. I’m going to try them in the dryer on the air dry cycle, and see if that helps. They’ve been hanging for two days, and the wrinkles are not relaxing.So overall, I’m super impressed with the blackout design and the quality of the curtains. However, I am little disappointed in the wrinkling and the feel of them. That being said, I would still recommend these curtains, and will most likely buy a second matching set. I hope I find a resolution to the wrinkle issue, but I really like the color and look of the curtains.

Light blockage works well

These blackout curtains do what they are supposed to do - they really block the light well. They aren't actually very heavy in weight. I was able to buy a 1/2" rod that more than supports them. I think the key in getting total light blockage is how much higher than the window frame you hang them, and how close to the wall. The rod I bought has a very small clearance, as you can tell in my pic. So the curtains are a bit squished up against the wall. But I like that, because I think it gives more light blockage, even though it somewhat limits the freedom of the hang or movement of the curtains.They were very easy to slide on the rod, as the holes are lined with the metal grommets. I also did something a bit different in that I started going through the rod on the opposite angle for each curtain so that they nest together better, again for light reduction. In other words, I started the rod through from the BACK side on the left curtain, and from the FRONT side on the right curtain. This way they have more of an overlap in the middle, cutting out more light.As you can see in my pics, they block the light really well. You can see how much sunshine is coming through the rings at the top, and that the bulk of the curtain doesn't show any light. So, if I'd hung them a bit higher, I think even that light coming through the top would have been avoided. I had a problem window to deal with, as we have a portable air conditioning unit in that window, with a hose that exhausts out the bottom of this window. I've added a pic of that. But when they're closed, you can't even tell that's there. So, besides light blockage, they help the window look much nicer.Overall the look is good, and the color matches my room. The fabric was a bit more textured than I thought it would be from the pictures, but once they're up you don't really see that.

Great curtain, will get more

I didn't have the option between sizes so I ended up cutting mine a little bit to fit in the window better. My review is based on the 84" length but I am sure the material is the same for the other sizes. I really like the way the lake blue looks, I have some basic old blackout curtains and they dont look great in the room. I replaced one with this curtain and it looks so much better. Being able to blackout the sunlight while having a colored curtain in the room is a nice upgrade. There is definitely some light insulating effect or heat retention going on with the layers of this. It's noticeable with it being winter right now and every little bit helps. They do have bunch of different length options, I measured mine and it is accurate to what I expected to receive. Overall good quality, durability should be fine, not expecting these to wear out too much given that theyre just curtains.

These black-out curtains work very well for those who need extreme low light or no light at all to help with napping, sleeping overnight, or needed for other things like suffering from a migraine. The color is a nice, bland dark gray that can couple with almost any other color scheme. They are heavier-duty, with a heavy linen on one side, and black plastic/vinyl on the reverse. The drapes have large rings made of heavy, clear plastic, able to slide onto most sizes and diameters of curtain rods. Cleaning does work best when done by hand and air-dried. Overall, these curtains work very well, and a good price for black-out curtain needs.
