Value for money is very good.
Product is great, packaging was a disaster. The large paper envelope did not protect the box, which was completely in pieces. Fortunately, only two of the candles got dented.

I love these candles. They last for a full 10 hours every time!
.................you might have noticed everyone has rated these candles LOVE and for good reason...you will not find a better candle nor a nicer company [and i'll bet] nor a better price.. and they come right away. and look beautiful even before they are lit...translucent, opalescent, rather than waxy-looking and walmartic [i.e. cheap n toxic].and, remember what Martha Stewart taught us...although banned for use by American candle-makers, the USA allows imports to have lead in candle wicks. no, i don't know why [both why we allow it, and why china would use it]. check out :[...]a life-long friend gave me two Himalayan-salt candle-holders as a gift a few weeks ago. .. a votive candle nestles inside a softball-sized chunk of salt [shipped from Tibet via its warlord, china] and the heat of the flame warms the salt whose busy little atoms vibrate and give off negative ions to cleanse the air [and your aura, don't ya know].well i don't know, but its cool to have 2 beautiful pink chunks of Tibetan mountain with 2 beautiful lavender-hued american candles glowing from within.. makes me want to chant ..... aummmmm ....so peaceful, serene, & with a significant other, so romantic. time to fill up the bathtub for a nice soak.as i mentioned, SHOP-A-CANDLE is the best company ever. i inadvertently received scented candles [wonderful scent, by the way and even tho i am just way tooo allergic to practically anything but fresh air the unlit candle only created sneezes. profuse, BUT the usual response to scent with me is dire .. fragrances give me very nasty sinus headaches ...so if you like scents, it makes sense to spend a few extra cents [sorry about that] to order up a scented box along with unscented one ..so. SHOP A CANDLE went way over the expected to see that i was supplied with what i had ordered, asap, and generously offered for me to pass along unexpected the scented ones.and i shall. to my dear friend who gave me the salt candle holders [only right. she's the candle-freak, not me - she just knew i am empathize with Tibetan Buddhism et. al.].giva gift, get a gift .. give a hug, get a hugThat's known in Tibet as karma.or, in america, what goes round comes round.
I’ve ordered these votives at least six times as I light a candle nightly. It’s hit or miss when it comes to the votives burning evenly. Some will burn fine and others need to be lit several times. When finally lit, the votive does burn for a decent amount of time. The votives are a bit brittle and usually there are lots of little flecks of wax throughout the box, which can get all over when opening the box. For the price I’ll keep ordering these.
I had to leave these candles a 1 star rating but they deserve less. They might rank as the second worse purchase I’ve made from Amazon in recent months, losing only to some children’s play clothes that were so poorly made that when I asked to return them, I got a refund and then asked NOT to return them. I wish I could return these but alas, I had to use them to discover how bad these candles were. What’s wrong with them? A lot of the wicks fell out through the bottom. When the wicks didn’t fall out it’s because the wick is stuck in the wax and has to be pried up out of the wax before lighting. Every.single. One. The wicks themselves are very thin. They don’t all burn evenly, so wax pools extinguish the flames or the flame eats out a crevice on one side of the votive so that it’s out in 10 minutes. Some burned for a few hours but not one lasted 10 hours. I went through about 50 candles for 40 luminaries because so many were defective. I’ve used votives for luminaries for years. This was the worst box of candles I have ever purchased.
I light a candle every night as a devotional token in front of a small picture of Jesus Christ, and when I get up each morning the candle is still burning and I say a little prayer in gratitude for having a job and good health.I used to buy much cheaper candles Made in China, and some mornings when I got up, the candle would be out! This confused me a little; I didn't know if it was a bad sign from above, or just a bad wick!Chinese products are well known for their very poor quality in everything they do and I don't like them. This happened off and on with the current Chinese box of candles I had, so I started searching for a better quality product for my next purchase.I found these, and it also said that they were Made in the U.S.A. so I bought them, even though the price was higher. The old saying "You get what you pay for" is all so true!I couldn't be happier with these candles! Not a single one of them has failed me yet. They burn clean, consistent, and leave no residue in the container.I feel good also in the fact that I'm buying a Domestic made product and contributing in some insignificant way to someone's ability to keep their job here in the States, which is also important to me. I don't mind paying a little more for this.I guess it was a sign from above after all...God told me not to buy such cheap candles for him anymore!
I've ordered two of these boxes at different times. Both times the box came broken and the candles inside were covered in bits of wax. If you burn the candles all in one sitting they last several hours. But if you blow them out, they will tunnel and waste a large portion of the candle. But they have a nice flicker and they do not have any odor (something I like most about them).
