Great heavy weight , I used it for my kids bookshelf which have lots of flimsy books. I had an acrylic one before that kept falling over so I’m using this square one to hold the acrylic one . I found this is the best way to keep the books in place. It is very rough in texture but it is a book end so there’s not much everyday contact so that doesn’t matter anyway . I’m surprised at the quality and substance of it.
By looking at the photos, I was concerned that the product would have too many holes. Upon arrival, I was happy to see that the holes do not take away from the overall look of the product. These marble bookends are heavy and look substantial. The stone has a high-quality matte (not shiny) look that is hard to capture in photos. Yes, it's just cream-colored marble bookends, but if this is the color family you are looking for, I think you'll be pleased with these. The carved design looks like a LEGO block. It's a unique yet functional find.This product comes with two felt sticky pads to place on the base to prevent scratching the surface. My only concern is the smell. Don't worry, there's no strong smell from far away. I only noticed the smell on my hands after holding the marble and you can smell the odor when you put your nose to it. I hope it's just the natural smell of the stone and not some type of additive used on it. I wanted to mention this in full disclosure. It's still a very nice product that deserves five stars.
Beautiful bookends but they are wobbly and keep falling over with the slightest movement. i think they're just too short, and should at least be slightly taller than half an average book height to stay upright.
The book ends' thickness, weight, texture, size, and color are as advertised. Unfortunately, even with the grips I added to the bottom, they wouldn't stand up on their own. Whether I tried to use them to hold up thick books or a few thin journals, they would stay upright for most of the day then coming crashing down on my desk with a loud thud at 2 A.M. I was completely over it after a few days then stuffed them in my closet. If I were thinking, I would've returned them right away but I missed the timeframe to do so.
I have a couple sets of Koville book ends and I'm happy to report that this brand consistently delivers high-quality, stunning products. I love the look of these travertine bookends. They're quirky and elegant and practical all at the same time.My only objection, as with other products from this brand, is the poor quality of the included rubber "feet." They're too thick in proportion to their width and make thin(ish), heavy objects unstable. I always just throw away their pads and use my own stuff instead [B08CRRJLM8].
This is a substantial and well crafted marble bookend set by Koville.I immediately noted how heavy they are, so they are appropriate to hold wider books. In fact, they'd be perfect to highlight an entire book series. The marble is smooth and beveled on the edges. I love all the natural pits and intricacies in the stone, revealing its natural beauty. As for coloring, the marble is a light latte, with tan, cream, and grey tones. The palette leans more cool than warm. You can stand both ends upright, keep them flat, or even vary the two.All the way around I think they these bookends are lovely. They will make a great addition to my desktop. I would recommend them to others.
These book ends are gorgeous. When I saw someone referred to them as Lego look a likes , I thought that’s genius! They do look like one by one brick Legos. I love them because I actually have them on the shelf with some Legos.They are very solid bookends. The stone is gorgeous. They are unique and have different patterns because they are a natural stone. They are plenty heavy enough that they hold up my books. They each come with four little adhesive pads if you want to put them on the bottom to protect your shelf.I highly recommend these book ends. They’re gorgeous and weigh enough to actually hold books up correctly. Well worth it.
