Got this through the Vine. Super cute curtain rod to fit pretty much any small or large window frame. Holds the curtains very well and sturdy, with little cute horses on the ends. Simple rod, with some cute little plastic finials
This curtain rod itself is ok, but both ends are extendable and it screws together in the middle, so there are lots of weak joints, and the entire thing relies on a couple of wall hooks that aren't attached to the main rod at all (other than being tightly squeezed in by a set screw) so all of those weak joints are structurally required for it to work - if one segment of the rod isn't sturdy then the rest are falling behind it. The finials are cute, plastic of course, and only attached by friction (as opposed to screws or glue) so they can be pulled off and I imagine moved to another matching diameter rod, like say if this one were to break after a kid tried to climb the curtains or something. It might not be that easy to match the size, though, I'm not sure, because both are placed on the extendable ends, which fit inside the larger central rod, and I'd expect the middle part is the more "standard" size in comparison. But anyway, it's a perfectly acceptable curtain rod for light duty use (no multi layer blackout curtains are going on this,) and with only two hooks to affix to the wall it's pretty easy to install... It just seems like it would also be pretty easy to remove -- intentionally or not. And, of course, the "hanging on a hook" method means that a curtain can't move from one side of the hook to the other. So the whole thing isn't especially suited to rod-in-pocket curtains (whereas one hanging on rings or loops would allow you to have one or two on the very end be on the"outside" portion of the rod - which could also be nice since it ensures you can never pull the curtain away from the edge of the window...

Adorable and expandable curtain rod
I ordered this for the room my nieces and nephews use when they stay with us, and I was instantly impressed by the quality of the finials. The horses are delightful and very appealing, which actually resulted in us installing the curtain rod without the horses on each end because my nephew requested to play with them (and has been entertained since then!). Th rod itself is a breeze to assemble; each piece screws into the others to ensure a stable finished product that can be adjusted to match the width of your window. Our windows are fairly wide and it’s been a struggle finding curtain rods that can extend that far, but this one covered the entire window without any issues. It’s lightweight yet remarkably strong and stable. The price was also excellent, especially considering the quality and versatility of this product. I appreciate that the rods are slim—this increases the likelihood they will fit inside the grommets if just about any curtains you want to hang. I’ve bought rods before that were too thick which became problematic because we were limited to certain curtains with very large grommets, but fortunately that’s not a problem here. We opted to use our own (adhesive) hooks instead of the ones that came with this item, and the rod has held up for over a month with zero issues, even though our blackout curtains are fairly heavy. That’s quite an impressive feat. We are thrilled with this product overall.

Such a cute finishing touch for a kid’s room.
TL;DR: Easy to install, sturdy enough for real curtains, and the horse finials are adorable without being over the top.I bought this curtain rod for a kid’s room makeover, and it ended up being one of those small details that really pulled the whole space together.
