    Gold is peeling off quite a few

    I ordered these to decorate a pirates chest for my son who is going through a gold loving phase. He has crested a whole gold treasure hord in his room, and so I had the idea of creating him a pirates chest statue and incorporating these into it. Although they will work for that task, several of them are peeling and/or chipped on corners and edges where black is obvious. The quality is just not good enough to not have to paint quite a few of them myself in order to fix this. I did consider returning, but, they are still decent enough to not have to go through that hassle, so I did settle at a 4 star rating. Fair quality, but will definitely require touch ups on a large amount, if needing that fully solid gold look.

    Before making this purchase I tried to find out the rough volume of 1400 pieces but couldn't. So for anyone with the same question: 1400 plastic crystals (each about the size of a large pea) is about 2 cups/500mL/16 oz. The iridescent effect is very nice, especially under bright light.
