Wanted to love it
I bought this to burn my incense in something other than the wooden one I had. Found this one which looks sleek and elegant. Unfortunately, the incense misses the dish and falls outside of it even though the stick is completely straight. Not great if I had=ve to clean up all around it after using it.

Good looking, sturdy incense holder!
It's a simple, good looking piece. Sturdy and came well packaged. The hole where the incense stick goes is a little big so depending on the type of incense you have, it might move around a little.

If only.....
Would be the best for me if it was 1.5 or 2 inches bigger in circumference.As it is, some of the ashes, still out of the plate.Otherwise, design, color and ease of use is great.

Simple. elegant, and very nice!
I was very surprised by how nice this incense holder was. I actually got it so that I could use it outside on my deck to burn the mosquito repelling incense. It is ceramic so you do have to be careful with it. The plate part is really large, much larger than other incense holders I have had. I almost feel bad using this outdoor for insect repelling because it is so pretty and nice. It holds the incense nicely with no issues and catches all the ash. I would definitely recommend this product. It is simple elegance.

Beautiful, organic look
I couldn't wait to get this product! While I love burning incense both indoors (as an air purifier) and outdoors (to keep mosquitoes away), I'm not a fan of how traditional incense holders look. This ceramic piece is a whole different aesthetic and so decorative. In addition to the ceramic base, it came with a gold-tone accessory piece...there were no instructions included with the packaging re: how to use this little extra piece so I decided to try it with and without. Without the golden attachment, my (standard size?) 8-inch incense stick tilted slightly, which made it burn a little better...but the ceramic tray was not wide enough in diameter to contain the ash shed by the incense stick as its upper portion burned off. So I cleaned out the tray and started over with a new incense stick (also 8"), but this time I threaded it through the golden accessory piece before inserting in the ceramic dish hole. This made this incense stand more upright than without, and resolved the issue with the ash--all of which fell within the dish this time. So while I prefer the more organic, simple look of this incense holder without the golden accessory, you might need to use it if you don't want to have to keep cleaning the ash from your furniture. From a design perspective, this might be resolved if the little hole built into the ceramic were just a tad deeper to help the incense stand upright without need for the metal accessory (or by using shorter incense sticks, I suppose). The dish itself has a lovely bone-hued color, a rustic yet clean and elegant look that complements most decor styles, and a subtle grain to the ceramic that makes it look hand-crafted. I'll likely purchase more like it for myself and for gifting.
