Very Pretty!!!
The two hurricane glass candle holders each came with an antique brass stand and a glass dome with a hole on top that allows for part of the brass to come thru the top.The antique brass finished candle holder is soldered together. It has round legs that hold it off the table, one piece that comes up both sides and loops at the top, a round base that has a lip that the glass sits in, and a round piece that sits inside the base and has the one piece that goes up soldered onto it. This round piece has a lip that secures the candle or anything else you may place inside. The candle holder is not heavy at all and this includes the glass but it does not look 'light' when sitting on the table. For the smaller one, I inserted a jarred candle. I found that it fit perfectly. The jar was slightly over 3 inches tall and wide. The height and width are important due to the piece that goes up. Anything that is taller at that width will not fit between the sides of the tall brass piece. I measured the larger candle holder on the width and height where the brass piece curves toward the loop in case you want to purchase a candle ahead of time. I do not have the one I want to put in it yet.I personally am looking for a jarred candle to put inside or one of the battery operated 'flameless' candles to go inside. I would not want to clean off the pooled wax remains from a candle burning. The advertisement suggest it being used as a terrarium. If you do so, the depth of the inside circle would make it best for something that does not need much depth of soil. Arid plants like succulents and cacti so better with an open terrarium. Ferns and moss do better with a self-sustaining, high humidity ecosystem that this would not provide easily. Plus, I don't know how the brass would do with the moisture of the soil being in constant contact. If you want the look, maybe using silk plants with a styrofoam base that is covered with a moss looking material would work.Overall, these are two beautiful candle holders that would go with any decor. I personally have a french country, eclectic look in my home and they go very well.
