Attractive to look at but both metal and glass are thin and fragile

These are lovely and I was excited about using these regularly with the small handle and the glass protecting the flame while lit. I like candle light on my table both inside and out while eating or when company comes. The way the light reflects through glass or on the gold surface of the metal, creates an atmosphere that’s peaceful and calming but, the metal on these candle holders is on the thin side. They are packaged well for shipping but, as you remove them from the styrofoam, it’s very easy to bend the metal tops and sides. You may need to bend them back to make them even again but you need to be very careful. Due to the lite soldering, you can easily snap off the metal where the pieces are attached. There is just a little bit of solder, done very quickly, making these attached poorly. Each piece IS attached to the other however, if you bend them or twist them, they will break off.The glass globes are similar. They fit right into place in the metal holder but again, these are very thin making them fragile. You need to be careful while removing them from the styrofoam. They are placed deep within it and as you try and pull them out, they can easily snap and break the glass.Assembly is easy, and looks attractive when put together. You can use a candle inside the glass or place a succulent within the glass globes instead. The design is nice, the materials are light and thin but still quality. However, knowing now, how easy these are to break, either the glass or metal both, I would not purchase these again. As I age, My husband and myself are becoming bulls in china shops and these will not last very long inside my home. In my opinion, these should be less expensive than the price listed by around $20. If the glass and metal was thicker and more solid, I would pay the full, higher price but, not for the thin metal and fragile glass.It’s really a shame. Even the glass being thicker would make a difference but because both the glass AND metal are thin and fragile/breakable, the price shouldn’t be as high as it is.

Stunning Hurricane Set for any Season!

Super impressed with this two-piece hurricane set! The brushed copper/gold finish is beautiful and looks very high-end. The glass is surprisingly thick and sturdy, which I really appreciate. I love that they come in two different sizes—it makes for a much more interesting display. I’ve used them for pillar candles, but they also look gorgeous as vases for fresh flowers. Truly a versatile set that works for any season or holiday. Definitely worth the buy

NOT good quality materials, not practical to use. OK to look at, that's it.

For the price on this 2 candle holder set I expected nice holders.These are not that.The price at the time of this review for the 2 small holders is 40.41. These are not worth even half that!The metal is very low quality. The paint job on the metal, because it isn't the brushed metal it's shown to be in most of the listing photos, it's poorly painted cheap metal, is a very bad paint job. Clear and obvious brush strokes. Is it supposed to look like wood? Is it supposed to look like cheap metal?The glass on this is so thin I'm scared to sneeze anywhere near it. That's not an exaggeration. Hurricane holders have their name for good reason, and these aren't them. This glass is so very thin. You'll be lucky to not break it just removing it from the foam it's shipped in.This is a 10 dollar candle holder set, at best. It's nowhere near as large as it's shown to be in the listing photos. Use a tealight or votive candle in the small one. You might get a 3 or 4 inch pillar in the larger one.DON'T try to pick them up within an hour after using. That top gets really, really hot with a flame burning under it. The thin glass also gets too warm for my comfort level. I wouldn't recommend to let them burn unattended for any amount of time. Thin glass shatters really easily.I thought these were a cute, unique design when I ordered them, and normally I love my candles and holders, but these are not good. The design isn't practical at all for usage. The materials aren't quality for longevity. I do not recommend these holders anywhere with pets or children, or a lot of people. Basically, if you're one person alone, you can probably safely use these if you have a way to put out the candle without burning yourself.These are ok for looking at, but not practical at all for using as intended. I don't recommend these. They are overpriced by a lot, and not really functional like they should be.

Lovely, unique, minimal design.

I love these hurricane glass candle holders. They have a unique shape and design that sets them apart from typical lantern type holders. The brassy gold finish looks nice and the minimal style is applicable to so many decor themes. These are not large candles holders, though they appear so in the product photos. I feel they work best grouped with other items (e.g. on a tray). These holders don't come with candles, so you'll need to supply your own. Worth noting - standard pillars have a 3" diameter. That is too large for the smaller lantern (as you can see in the overhead picture). I had to order a 2" candle which hasn't yet arrived. The glass chimney is rather fragile, so this is not something that should be within range of children. The current $47 price seems high to me. So high, that I'm tempted to give this 3 stars, but the lanterns are lovely (though small) so 4 Stars it is.
